One guy is going head-to-head with a California DMV over his head-turning vanity license plate.
There are tens of thousands of these plates on the streets. But before it gets onto your car, it has to pass the screeners here at the DMV. It can't offensive or indecent. But there are some mistakes that hit the streets and they get about one hundred calls a year on that.

Thank goodness you came along. I was about to hold my laptop screen up to a mirror.
Some days even I wonder about myself...

I was about to hold my laptop screen up to a mirror. You weren't the only one. Thank you to I Drive for explaining it!!!
I saw a plate once that had "HNG LKA." The driver had, however, ordered the vanity plate for horse lovers, so immediately after the lettering was a picture of a horse. I guess it slipped by DMV because the lettering alone didn't set off any alarms. Wonder if they ever pulled that plate....

I once saw one that said MS AGRO and the frame said if you don't understand it read it backwards....
no joke.

(Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.)
In the '80s, I had some plates that read, "MGADTH," in both Texas and Colorado.
Both of those plates are on my wall. A reminder of good times gone by.

That would be: DPRT12KM = 1,000.
MM = 1,000,000

M stands for 1,000 (as does K). A million is represented by MM, or at least it used to be when I went to school. If you sold a load of loads with five thousand board feet of lumber in it, that would be represented as 5 mbf.
