Mr. Thompson speaks to the London Policy Exchange about foreign policy, commonalities of Great Britain and the U.S., and shared threats to our nations. Good read.

Well, to this day there are “conservatives” that still gush about Clinton’s speech.
Yes, I find it ridiculous, but it’s a shallow critisism that nevertheless does hold some weight for people. In Fred’s case, I noticed the occasional “uh’s” because I had it drilled into me never to do that in a speech class.
IMO, I don’t believe it’s a valid concern here. A little more time giving high profile speeches and engaging in Q&A’s should shake the rust off. That’s what it sounded like to me anyway. Rust, nothing more.
Ideas were sound.
The Romney blog (i.e. Hugh Hewitt) is a bit annoying, but then I haven’t liked Hugh since Miers. It’s clear there is no objectivity about Thompson on that blog. in one corner you have Mitt cheerleaders, in the other rudy. That is alright, but they are a bit disingenuous in their analysis by not admitting they see everything through the prism of what is good for their guy.
if they want an example of how to blog but cheerlead for your guy, I recommend they read Hawkins at rightwingnews.
We in this alliance have had our own share of hopes mocked and plans upset. And now it is time to shake off the disappointments, to let go of controversies past, and to press on together toward the great objectives. To ensure security for our people. To be a force for stability in the world. To remain the stalwart friends of freedom.
The same sentiment should be shared with the American people. To quote our domestic adversary: time to Move on.
Substance is key - not glibness.
As I tried to explain to the Rudybots (pre-purge); Hillary is her own worst enemy. Nobody likes her except for the lunatic fringe. And given the extremely foul mood the electorate is in over amnesty and other things, I don't see Hillary as that serious a threat. Not that we should turn our back on her. But what this country doesn't need is the same old same old, from either party.
We need change on all levels, all around.
Wish he had been a bit more forceful in actually answering a couple of his rhetorical questions on the UN and the Security Council.
Bump!
Fred has history,,,,, ( Tennessee) and is well known to write his own speeches
Reaganesque.
