Hard line on immigration helps GOP [MUST READ!]
Newsday ^ | June 14, 2007 | James P. Pinkerton

Posted on 06/19/2007 11:57:43 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Today, it looks like the immigration issue is ripping apart the Republican Party. But tomorrow - 2008 - could be a different story.

Specifically, it's George W. Bush who is ripping up Republican unity. Reflecting his own rich kid Texas roots - doesn't everyone own a ranch, requiring lots of nonwhite people to do the work? - Bush is determined to bring the benefits of the Tara Plantation lifestyle to more of his fellow millionaires. But what about the middle class, which finds its wages depressed, its culture besieged and its sovereignty challenged? Well, frankly, Bush doesn't give a damn.

One who sees this cynical ethnic manipulation clearly is former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. In a piece written for the June 11 Human Events, Gingrich accuses the administration of seeking to "blackmail the American people by threatening to refuse to enforce the law without a new bill." He continues: "A number of powerful figures in the Bush administration and in the Senate have been saying that if we do not agree to pass this destructive bill, they will never enforce the law."

Yup, that's blackmail, all right. Or maybe, in a time of suitcase-based terrorism, it's an even worse crime than that.

Proving Gingrich's point, Michael Chertoff, secretary of Homeland Insecurity and Amnesty (OK, that's not what it says on his business card, but it should), announced, per The Washington Post, that enforcement is a "hostage" of those who oppose the Bush amnesty bill. That is, either opponents give in, or Chertoff won't enforce the existing law. Correction: Chertoff won't pretend to enforce the law.

Yes, that was very good. If we can get past Bush’s idea of “guest workers” and “amnesty,” then we Republicans do have a shot at the White House. I think more and more of America is realizing what a threat an “open border” is. The border must be secured!

They're not enforcing the existing laws now. Did we experience a coup or something? Why are our laws no longer in force? Why is our elected leadership suddenly so out of synch with the rest of us?

“Why is our elected leadership suddenly so out of synch with the rest of us?”

They’re under the influence of powerful lobbyists and interest groups. Probably money is involved, too.

Remember this? It's from September 6, 2001.

Bush's Private Fireworks Display Draws Fire

A late-night White House fireworks display in honor of Mexico incurs the wrath of President Bush's Washington neighbors.

A private fireworks display above the White House during the first state dinner hosted by President Bush in Washington, Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001.

It was supposed to be a celebration.

The smashing conclusion to President Bush's first formal state dinner was a dazzling fireworks display honoring America's neighbor to the South, Mexico, and its visiting leader, President Vicente Fox.

But the pyrotechnics set off an unexpected explosion of resentment among Bush's neighbors in Washington.

The White House rocket racket at 11 p.m. Wednesday night sent security guards from nearby office buildings running into the streets to find out what was happening and panicked passersby, including a crowd of young people leaving a nearby concert by the R &B group Maxwell.

Estimated cost of this kiss-on-the-cheek to the leader of our neighbor to the south: $175-$200K.

The existing laws they aren't enforcing haven't been enforced since they were passed in 1986. I've long suspected we were experiencing a coup.

When D.C. politicians make back
room deals & try to redefine simple common words &
things beware! Word & things like, Vietnam was not a
war (even when thousands died) it was a conflict. Same
with this is not Amnesty it is a Grand Bargain, its Amnesty.

They are puppets on strings being pulled by the Open Borders Lobby and their agenda is much bigger than open borders and amnesty. I believe that in order to defeat “comprehensive immigration reform”, Americans MUST understand that passing this Bill will be just another win, one more step forward, toward the goal of creating a North American Union.

Ironically I’m listening to a replay of Medved—he has a guy on who says if we don’t embrace the Hispanics it will hurt the GOP. I’m in Pinkerton and Gingrich’s camp on this one.

In other words, if this bill gets rammed through by Bush and the Dems, Republicans will benefit for appearing to be against it.

So destroying the country is good for the Republican party? Then screw the party. I’m a conservative. My allegiance to the Republican party is pretty much gone.

I find Pinkerton’s column despicable. This is not a time to play politics. We need to save our country instead.

Kill the bill!

They (The Back Door Elites) already disrespected us twice (1st. time bringing up this bill & insulting Americans against it as bigots. 2nd time putting it in front of The Senate again after Our Defeat.

Ironically I’m listening to a replay of Medved—he has a guy on who says if we don’t embrace the Hispanics it will hurt the GOP.

The Hispanics that need embracing are the ones: who have been here for years; have learned our language; love America; are grateful to be here; and have fully integrated into our society.

Embracing the Hispanics: who march in our streets displaying their countries flags (not ours); who are only here to make some bread (not the kind you eat); who think the southwest belongs to Mexico or Aztland; who are Marxist's who come here to undermine capitalism; who are criminals who come here to commit crime; and who are gang bangers who come here to carve out turf, may garner the Country Club Republicans and the Establishment Liberals some votes in a few near term elections, but what would happen to this country ? What would happen to the American Dream ? Would the country even be worth living in after a decade or two ?

If the choice is between a destroyed country or the destruction of the Democratic/Republican establishment suicide pact, there really should be no hard decisions involved at all.

What is illuminating about this mess is that finally we have a clear cut issue that binds all the Globalists together and lifts the curtains revealing these Wizards of Oz (aka. The powers that be. The Roman Senate). They are plainly visible now. No more hiding behind the left/right two card Monte con game. They have put their personal political power and their personal monetary gain above the people they have swore an oath to serve.

What good do the "enforcement" provisions in the amnesty bill do when Chertoff says "impossible" and "bowing to reality?"
