Fox, CBS Ban Pig 'Condom' Ad
The Fox and CBS networks have both declined to air an ad for Trojan condoms that features cellphone-carrying pigs on the prowl.
The ad depicts women in a bar surrounded by cellphone-toting pigs. One of the swine heads off to the men’s room where it obtains a condom from a vending machine — and "is transformed into a head-turner in his 20s,” The New York Times reports. "When he returns to the bar, a fetching blonde who had been indifferent now smiles at him invitingly.”
The commercial is part of a new ad campaign by Trojan called "evolve.” The message: "Evolve. Use a condom every time.”
In rejecting the ad, Fox sent a written response to Trojan that read: "Contraceptive advertising must stress health-related uses rather than the prevention of pregnancy.”
CBS wrote that it did not find the ad "appropriate for our network even with late-night-only restrictions.”
The commercial will air on ABC, NBC, and nine cable networks, as well as in magazines and on Web sites.
Actually, what I think is funny, is that the guy the pig turns into is totally Middle Eastern.

Funny, I thought his appearance changed, and she was attracted to him. I didn't read anything having to do with the condom and sex on the first date into it at all. Nowhere in the ad does she see the condom, just a man she finds attractive instead of a pig.
To me, what Chuckles says is condemning ALL WOMEN who smile at men as sluts and whores. Pretty harsh, don't you think? I'll bet some woman at some point smiled at him as if she were attracted, even though he's still probably in the pig stage and hates his mother and has never had a woman. It's usually the guys who can't ever get a date who are so quick to condemn all women like Chuckles seems to have done.

1) The woman in the ad saw the man as attractive only after he bought a condom. You’re arguing fantasy if you think the actress in the commercial seeing the condom or not makes a difference.
2) Chuckles didn’t condemn ALL WOMEN. He was talking specifically about women who pick up men in bars because they’ve purchased condoms. Picking up men in bars only after they’ve purchased a condom isn’t ladylike in my opinion either.

Its a condom commercial. What do you think they are going to do? Read bible stories? Would a condom company have a commercial telling you that sex is bad bad bad? I am sure someone as prestine and pure as you have no need for this product but there is a market for people who do.

And you thought Trojans magically turned talking pigs into men? It was a METAPHOR. She saw all the men as pigs because they didn’t have Trojan brand condoms.

Oh, and incidentally, Chuckles didn’t say this, but I will:
A woman who suddenly finds a stranger much more attractive because he buys a condom before coming over to talk to her is a slut.
A woman who smiles at strangers at bars is not necessarily a slut. But she’s definitely barking up the wrong tree if she intends to find a husband. Guys don’t go to bars to meet their future wives. They go to bars for what they consider fun, whether it’s getting falling-down drunk, hanging out with the guys, or being man-sluts themselves.
If you want to meet a husband, subtly let one of the guys you meet at church know you’d be interested in seeing him somewhere else.
When you signal to a guy at Church that you like him, he likely presumes your desire is to do decent, Christian things with him. When you signal to a guy at a bar that you like him, he presumes you desire is to do drunken things with him.

If they can hawk their product, on the basis that it makes men more desirable, we can certainly oppose their product, on the basis that anyone who thinks it makes men more desirable is a slut. ABC, NBC and the makers of Trojan are peddling evil, and now you judge someone for judging that? They can peddle evil all they want, but even a rational, amoral businessman will disinvest from evil when the cost is too high.
Not everyone who uses a condom is using one for a one-night stand, either, incidentally.
