Apparently some think the idea of public financing for essentially a religious function is all wet. The alliance between Radical Islam and Libs is a match made in Hades.

>>”This concept of the foot-wash was coming up fairly regularly for student groups who might want to do a meeting or prayer group in the student center,” she said. “It’s been a lovely touch of appreciation for a prayer ritual that’s just a little different than what most of us are used to.”<<

How lovely. How diverse and tolerant.

I’m sure the Muzzies will appreciate your sentiments as they’re blowing up the school.

These gutless, limp-wristed appeasers don’t realize that they’ll be right up against the wall with the rest of us ‘infidels’ if the Imams have their way.

Nice constitutional issue for the church-state dispute.

As a strict-constructionist, I do not see the Bill of Rights prohibiting this. It is not a matter on Congress “establishing” a religion, which is what is prohibited.

But in the light of recent court decisions, it probably is forbidden. That is the dilemma.

Let the local mosques pay for this. Let athletes use the foot-washers after practice. Then everything will be all right, because in this country, athletics comes before everything.

Like I said last night to my hubby, "They want foot baths, let them use the darn toilet bowls."

Separation of Church and State only when it’s against Christians and Jews.

Do Catholic students get holy water from the university?

If they do that, what are they going to drink out of?

I wonder what the muzzies would say if a Christian group all of a sudden decided to start using the foot baths to demonstrate Christs submission to his fellow man? (from the Last Supper)

At EMU, the idea of a foot-washing station at the student center building came about in focus groups that were held with hundreds of community members invited to participate in the planning process, Frank Miller said.

"This concept of the foot-wash was coming up fairly regularly for student groups who might want to do a meeting or prayer group in the student center," she said. "It's been a lovely touch of appreciation for a prayer ritual that's just a little different than what most of us are used to."

Is Frank a 'she' or is this (as usual) just incredibly poor writing?

Of course the Foot Washing Baptists are going to be allowed to use this.

A bleeding-heart feminist might go by the name Frank.

But, I suspect shoddy journalism.

I believe that the Church of the Bretheren also do foot washing, not as a prayer ritual, but as a sign of service to others (”Do it unto the least of these...”). I don’t think this is unconstitutional based upon the Constitution alone, but given judicial interpretations of it, this would be an illegal “entanglement” in religion, wouldn’t it? If prayer cannot be supported, how can a ritual cleansing before prayer be supported— under the interpretations handed to us by the courts?

“Then everything will be all right, because in this country, athletics comes before everything.”

Thats the truth. The modern day Gladiators are used to keep the rif-raf occupied while the upper class (politicians) gain more control. Build them another stadium...they won’t bother us as we push them into slavery.

In the meantime they want to take Crosses down at Catholic schools.

Of course there are sanitary footbaths throughout Arabia, Asia and Africa, especially in places like Gaza, Lebananon, Somalia, Bosnia, etc.
