Gotta love the lady who asks who would do her flower beds. I suppose she could try using the two hands God gifted her with and attempting manual labor like an average person? At very least, hire for more then min wage and plenty of people would be willing.

Good article. The first half is full of details of the effect of illegal immigration and his own experiences, the last paragraphs are must reads for the insight into the administration. And while I fully remain committed to the WOT, I doubt the admin’s committment everyday. from the signing of the al Quida Bill of Rights, to the refusal to stump for the war except during campaigns, to leaving our borders open while at the same time selling the Patriot Act. I support the the PA, i just find it amazing he can live a double life on these national security issues.

And, oh yes, they have colluded with each other. still are. They just never believe the public would finally catch up to them. i wished I shared frum’s belief it will fail, I’m fighting for just that, but the lords are doing their damnest to pretend we don’t exist all the while we can see their eye twitching with the stress.

Should it happen, Bush’s political capitol being gone? Good. if he wants to do something useful provided we kill this, VETO VETO VETO spending and start educating the public on the war. not to improve his legacy, but because it’s important. Other then that I want him doing nothing. It didn’t have to be this way, but he’s the one that chose Kennedy over us.

"The largest share of the benefits went to the..people at the top of society. Almost all of the costs were borne by people at the bottom."

After six years of W's policies all, by chance, having similar social effects, it's not surprising to me that some people are starting to wonder about the sincerity of his "compassionate conservatism."

Excellent article by Frum!
I guess he’s off of the White House Christmas card list now.
He saw quite a bit up close and personal.
I’m glad to see one former insider speak his mind.

This whole thing is surreal.
Bush is leading a coup against the American people.

I am angry, and very sad, for our country.

Thank you for the post and ping.

At least rents will be cheap for our children in Amexica.

And the elites will have all of the cheap maids and gardeners they so richly deserve.

Time is growing short . The days of freedom are coming to an end.

It's up to the conservative blogosphere to save it.

There is no freedom without sacrifice.

The U.S.A is the last hope for freedom and justice in the world .

Here is how they hope to destroy the U.S. and with it freedom:

Liberals and Bush want to turn the U.S.A into a socialist Venezuela or a 3rd world country with the passage of this Amnesty bill:

From the Washington Times: Amnesty Bill permits 193 million more aliens from the 3rd world

This email list has the emails of the top aides to all the Senators in Alpabetic order by Senator.

I just copied each paragraph block of emails and pasted it to my yahoo email "to:" box,

one of those paragraph blocks of emails at a time.

And it worked. If you want to email them all at once and your If your email says too many in the to: field

just cut a few names off. But it will probably be short enough.

You can also email just the top aides for a specific senator. List in alphabetical order by Senator.

I have to say this. I think that the president is really trying to do good. He is not trying to screw the middle and lower classes(his pro business alies are). He realizes that we need those 12 million workers. We do. His problem is that, as governor, he saw so many aliens(legal and illegal) and thought that TX could not do without. He is right. We need that 12 mill work force. Where he falls short is where he supports an amnesty because it will make those 12 illegals legal while the demand for illegals will remain the same. We will get another 12 million illegals to fill the void because there will alway be a demand for cheap labor that cant unionize, cant appeal to local law enforcement and cant call OSHA. JMO

Great article, and a GREAT post!

Thank you!

If that article has been posted before,

If not, then it really deserves it’s own thread!

In the late 1980s, a group of self-described "paleoconservatives" had congealed around the magazine Chronicles. For them, the great issue was not incomes, but race. They mixed their ferocious hostility to immigration with savage denunciations of the civil-rights movement of the 1960s--and, for that matter, the Union cause in the 1860s.

Huh?

This is the same as calling those who are against the current bill racist today. Twenty years from now he will write that it was a true fact.

“And this favorable balance was composed in a way that would normally disturb a rational policymaker: The largest share of the benefits went to the immigrants themselves, and almost all of the rest to people at the top of society. Almost all of the costs were borne by people at the bottom.”

Is there any surprise then that the elites favor immigration, and the masses of illegals favor it too, but the people are upset by the sham-nesty.
