Mitt appears to be a much classier guy than his freeper followers.

Well, based on some of the behavior I've seen from the Mitt supporters, that isn't saying much.

But I get your point :^)

In the 15 days the site hs been up he’s added a personal blog/news page that allows comments and feedback. He has prominant links to Myspace, facebook and other personal contact sites. His website LAUNCHED with the ability for bloggers to add fundraising “widgets” to their own personal blogs and therefore raise money on their own for the Thompson effort.

My experience might not be the norm, but within a minute of signing up on the site as a Friend of Fred I had a welcome email. Every comment I’ve left and suggestion I’ve emailed has been returned with a response. These responses are from staffers, obviously, but it indicates that a STAFF exists for such things.

Thompson has hired the cream of the crop in internet design, marketing and message consultants in the political arena. He snapped these folks up or they defected from other campaigns.

The majority of his fundraising effort has been on-line.

And then there’s the constant presence on other conservative sites such as Townhall, etc. and his video response to Michael Moore.

Now you please tell me how any of that fits as “normal” or “lazy”.

I understand what you are saying, I get the point.
I also read things about him that indicate otherwise, but don’t have a citation for some of them.

A lawyer does some work sitting down, some standing up. A senator does some work sitting down, some standing up. Fred helped John Roberts get confirmation, some of that was sitting down, some standing up. He’s worked on advisory committees, sitting down, acting standing up. He does interviews sitting down, as do every other candidate that I have searched for information on. He gives speeches standing up. Speeches are written sitting down.

His schedule for the past several years has been intense, the acting, learning his lines, serving on committees, helping Scooter Libby as he could. The hours for an actor are not short days. I heard him talk about that, but can’t cite the source, sorry. He hasn’t been working 8 hour days since 2002, much longer days than that.

A senate staffer who worked with him on a committee said he spent more time doing the detail work than any other senator on that committee.

I sit behind a computer all day long, working industriously, but also lounging enough to be comfortable and hoping my muscles don’t cramp up. I could not do my work standing up.

Sounds like maybe you’re looking for hyperactivity.

What's Fred going to do as president in dealing with Reid and Pelosi? Upload mildly menacing two minute Youtube videos and scowl at them?

That's about all he got done in ten long years as the Senate's most forgettable member.

Fred Thompson: the lazy man's choice. Southern drawl . . . what else do ya'll want?

Exec'tive experience? Pshaaawww. That's too hard.

You may get him elected. Warren G. Harding got voted in for about the same reasons.

No one ever went broke overestimating the gullibility of the American public.
