“Missing social development”, you say?

I have been hearing that line for almost two decades now. At first I thought it was just people misinformed from last of exposure, then I thought it was probably peoples understandable preconceptions. Now I am starting to take it more and more as deliberate bigotry, hatred and insult. All my siblings were homeschooled, my wife was homeschooled, I am planning to homeschool. Scientific studies discredited the 'socialization' premise back when I was still in school. You might think years of well adjusted homeschoolers quietly slipping into the adult workforce without incident would make an impact. It has to be the pure socialism they are getting from public school and the media. Where else can this herd mentality be coming from? 'It takes a village' and all that junk. As I get older I have less tolerance for ignorant bigotry directed my way.

My daughter was telling me the other day how when her customers find out she was homeschooled they are always amazed because she "seems so normal, and has such good people skills, I thought homeschooled kids would be backwards" :), or something to that effect.
