Netanyahu said he saw a direct link between Israel's disengagement from Gaza in 2005 and the current situation there. "What we're seeing in Gaza is the inevitable result of our weak, defeatist policies and withdrawal. Every peace of land we evacuate is seized by radical Islam backed by Iran and rockets are launched from there against us," he noted. "The unilateral withdrawal from Lebanon created "Hizbullahstan" - the first Iranian base in northern Israel, and now we got "Hamastan" - the second Iranian base in southern Israel." "This is a result of an erroneous policy of Israel's leaders, or actually of the prime ministers since the withdrawal from Lebanon and onward...
Just to be clear, it was Netanyahu that granted Hamas legitimacy and released its founder from Israeli prison.
Bibi is not opposed to the vivisection of Israel, he just wants more of the payoff for doing so.
Bibi can then flee the carnage and make a handsome living addressing American church groups.
Maybe (R)nold was right about lifting that ban on foreign-born presidential candidates...that would let us nominate Bebe in 2008. Alternatively, the prime minister of Australia would make a good president.
Netanyahu is of course right, but the ultimate fault for this situation lies at the feet of the Israeli populace. After all they were the ones to vote the current Prime Minister into office along with the current governmnet.
Peace at any price will never achieve its stated goal.
The Israeli populcae needs to come to grips with the reality that they are in a fight and need to grow a pair.
I never threw him under the bus. There are some who blame him for certain decisions/concessions regarding Arafat and the PA, but as I said, those are mainly the fault of Clinton.
And do so in the geopolitical realties facing Israel and the internal policies Bibi was left with. Then you can fairly judge him.
victor & founding father ~
you have stated the case about 100%!!....but
#1 is to dump that dope olmert and put in bibi netanyahu!!!!
#2 stop listening to condi rice and the anti-semetic US state dept.
HAMAS = HISB'ALLAH = REVOLUTIONARY GUARDS
all three are trained and controlled from the same place...
Is the article talking about Israel or the congress of the United States?? Hard to tell!!
Case closed."
Bingo. So many are deceived by the media they cannot see what's right in front of them.
"What we're seeing in [Iraq] is the inevitable result of our weak, defeatist policies and withdrawal. Every peace of land we evacuate is seized by radical Islam backed by Iran and rockets are launched from there against us,"
I imagine that those very “concessions” were heaped upon him at that time by US politicians so they could be nominated for the Peace Prize. Don’t rule that out, Israel can not do just anything they want with Uncle Sam threatening to pull their money and support away.
I am willing to give Bibi another chance. He seems to mean business. He has the cojones to take out Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezbullah and use the means at his disposal. Thats more than any other Israeli leader currently can offer.
His past actions as PM (regarding Palestine) have to be seen in context of the Clinton Presidency. I am confident with a right-wing US President, the History of the ME may have went an other course in the 1990s.”
I think you are totally corrct. I think Clinton left Israel to swing in the wind.
