Free Republic is an amazing resource with many thousands of members.
Why not harness that resource and start our own third party with *REAL* conservative principles.
The Republican Party may have left a lot of us recently - but that does not necessarily mean that we have to leave our conservative principles.
Out of this large principled group, there has to be someone that is able to create a new party and make it a new force in national politics.
Qualifications: REAL conservative; Clean background; and the ability to clearly Communicate ideas to the American people.
Any takers?? You would have the beginnings of an organization with thousands of volunteers already in place in every state of the Union.

all that recent stuff could pale to what may happen if amensty passes and is signed by you know who..
third parties have been pivotal in our history simply by default

You must remember there is a heavy infestation of party (both sides), government, alphabet soup agencies & Zion Zealot, Spin doctors and poll pushers on FR. Specially
after 911 and really during & after the 04 election.

Sometimes we have to stay united in what we don't want as well as what we want. I don't want any RAT in charge of anything. We must win back the Senate or House or presidency. To give the RATS full power is to put us back perhaps forever. Remember my friend's "end game" theory of the RATs.
Never, ever vote for a RAT. The only way a "conservative" RAT will ever be of any value is if they are in the minority. Then the vote will be worth something but if that "conservative" RAT is in the majority, the wrong legislation will be either advanced or killed.
Besides if the "conservative" RAT were really conservative, they wouldn't be a RAT.
Steve isn't stupid and he's not going to give up a sure thing to take on Harkin if he doesn't think he has a decent chance of winning. He may just be having some fun with Harkin at this point. He's at least going after him which is more than anyone else is doing.

It'd be nice if it were that simple. But we've also got to deal with the RINO suits running the party, on every level, local to national. And if you don't think they're a prob, I've got a couple of acronyms for you: NYS GOP. And one name: Mel Martinez.
Rather than following the Lil’ General down the path that leads to more Democrats in office, consider that FReepers could be an effective force in removing RINO’s from the Republican Pa attempt, IMHO.rty.
That is less risky than a third party.

Great Idea. Abandoning the GOP and starting "yet another 3rd party" is the domestic version of Cut-And-Run. Stay and defend yourself.
