Yesterday I received a mass email from RNC Chairman Mike Duncan ripping Harry Reid for his latest attacks on our military leaders. What follows is my reply, which I cc'd to the White House and the offices of John McCain, Trent Lott, Lindsey Graham and the perpetually tearful George Voinovich ...
"Mr. Duncan: The attacks on conservatives by President Bush, Senator Graham, Senator McCain and Senator Lott regarding the immigration issue are just as egregious as Harry Reid's treasonous slurs about our great military.
"And even more disheartening is that my senator, Mr. Voinovich, supports the Bush/Kennedy amnesty monstrosity. (Given that the only reason Mr. Voinovich originally ran as a Republican in Cleveland is because the line was shorter, this is hardly surprising.)
"I'm a lifelong Republican voter, so it pains me to tell you that I'm quitting the GOP. Only when Republican officeholders show the same respect to American citizens and conservative voters that they show to illegal aliens will I return to the GOP fold. Please remove me from your email list."
Amen!
Here! Here!
Good for you King.
I left the GOP a year ago. I left President Bush two weeks ago.
But I ain’t leaving my country to be screwed over by a bunch of cowardly, elitist weasels in Washington, DC.
Good reply. Hope someone is reading your reply and others like it. If they don’t they’re whistling past the graveyard.
As I write, the wife is in the dooryard removing the Bush/Cheney ‘04 bumper sticker from the car.

I’m ready for the next letter fron the RNC. I have three 20 peso notes ( about $1.80). I’ll mail one to them.
Good...you speak for a LOT of us (not a LOTT of us).
>>I’m a lifelong Republican voter, so it pains me to tell you that I’m quitting the GOP.<<
I’m a lifelong Republican voter myself. It seems so long ago that I was proud to call myself a “dyed-in-the-wool Republican”.
I am ashamed of what the party has become. I feel I have to go out of my way to explain to my liberal friends that the Republican party does not represent me. I never thought that day would come, but it has.
I can finally empathize with what conservative Democrats must have been going through when the scales fell from their eyes, and they saw their party descending into what it is now.
I hope you are right sir; somehow, I don’t think so. They have to peel back their arrogance before they can see anything.
As for my own association with the party, I’ve let it be known that if this immigration bill passes the senate, I’m leaving the party. If it should happen, I plan to mail a copy of my change in voter registration to my own senators, the RNC, local republican party officals, and the White House.
I stepped away from the GOP last year. The GOP isn’t the party I first started working with when I was 17 years old eager to turn 18.... so... I could vote for President Ronald Reagan in 1980.
LOL! Now that I like.
'ceptin' it don't have any plans to ever visit that turd world hellhole.

You should be getting one very soon. I received an RNC fundraising piece in the mail today; it contained the usual phony survey. Here’s one of the survey questions: “Do you agree that we must stop illegal immigration?” I checked “Yes” and wrote below it, “Unlike the president.” And mailed it back with no contribution.
Hey GOP: GFY.
Hurts, doesn’t it?
When he won re-election in ‘04, he said he would spend his hard won political capital.
I didn’t know he would spend it against me.

You and I both.
