Jorge--guessing having not read the article thoroughly--pointed out that those of Latino descent in this country should be able to express their opinion. Americans of all ancestries should. The thing is, as a freeper pointed out, that this is about Bush seeking the opinions of foreigners--non-citizens.
BB223, concurs with a comment that Jorge's belief that naturalized citizens from Latin America (at least in South Florida) is bad and an insult to native born Americans. While Jorge should have removed "most" and put in 'many' in front of "people," he does have a point--again one bolstered by another freeper's comment. Naturalized citizens chose to become American, they didn't attain it automatically by birth. Many naturalized citizens are more loyal than many native-born Americans.
C. Martel comes up out of the blue with an unwarranted insult to Jorge.*
And your commenting has just denigrated into a bunch of insult tossing to and fro.
This is definitely butting in, but guessing that other freepers find this little feud of yours.....off-putting also.
So--just a suggestion, not a moderator, can you all get back on the topic of Bush pandering to illegal aliens?
*Two others had the foresight to just stop commenting to Jorge rather than getting into petty spats.
And one of those two latter freepers didn't have much foresight after all.
This is definitely butting in, but guessing that other freepers find this little feud of yours.....off-putting also.
You know what. You're right.
I come to these threads with genuine views I think need to be heard, but quickly fall into arguing for the sake of arguing.
The personal attacks and antagonism in these threads end up becoming a form of message board entertainment for me.
I laugh all night while the hot heads call me names.
This is not the kind of character I want to cultivate on FR or anywhere else. This is not the kind of person I want to be.
I apologize to all and I will seriously try to do better.
