I wish it was just “lefties”. What I can’t understand is that there is a growing number of Freepers who USED to support our President/other Republicans! I’ve seen a number of them who used to support him enthusiastically, and defend him. Now it seems as if they go along with a lot of the old-time malcontents and the leftists! I’m just imagining what the leftists are doing. They’re probably laughing at us and cheering! I know many of the malcontents try to make it seem as if they once voted for him.

I knew that a lot of them were full of it. But the saddest thing are the ones that knew better what our President is all about, and still liked and voted for him. Now a lot of them bash him often, and seemed to have turned against him. They claim that they are through with him, and want him out. They seem to find fault with him with everything he does, and all because of that stupid bill!

I guess they expected him to turn into Superman, and make all their wishes come true. Well they’ve got to face reality, no one made George Bush king or dictator. He’s an ordinary man who is trying to be a good leader. He’s done a lot of what they say they want. But it doesn’t matter to them anymore. I don’t see where he’s changed much from what he was before when they liked and supported him.

President Bush hasn’t changed — he’s the most CONSISTENT, principled leader I’ve ever had the pleasure to observe and support! . . . It’s SOME (a minority) of those who once supported him that have changed — a combination of short memories, intellectual hypocrisy, and political malleability — after all, if one of those ‘super smart’ radio personalities says the President is wrong, then ‘by golly’ he must be . . . GAG!

I’ve reviewed a lot of the polls taken and major commentaries written during Reagan’s second term — the ‘conservative’ purists deserted him as well, lead by none other than Bill Buckley and the National Review crowd . . . history really does have a way of repeating itself!! . . . Fortunately for Reagan, he didn’t have to contend with a 24/7 media cycle, cable ‘news’ channels, and the ‘blogosphere’, all of which have exposed President Bush to unprecedented and unrelenting analysis/criticism . . . Despite the constant scrutiny, however, President Bush still polls in the 30s with 70%ish support from Republicans — Truman would have LOVED such numbers after WWII and during the Korean War!!
