I don't believe that is the motivation. I believe that they are just setting themselves up for a lot of benefits from the cheap labor industries after they leave office.

I have seen how exploited and vulnerable these people are first hand. I provide security at an apartment complex in Corona, CA which is probably over 50% illegal alien. The number of brand-new cars and SUVs these people have is astonishing. Most of these families have 2 and three cars. They have so many cars they are parked on the streets around the place almost bumber to bumber. I even saw at least one Corvette. Would that I were so exploited.

Bush's rhetoric is so far from reality that it is obviously just meant for the Beltway echo-chamber.

Because the alternative was too awful to contemplate. As bad as it is now, don't think for a minute that J. Francois Kerry would have been better.

This is the attitude that has gotten us in this mess. It reminds me of the Simpson's episode...

The point is that the GOP is counting on the conservatives to hold their nose and vote for them anyway because "at least they are better than the democrat".

For our voices to be heard, we have to start voting 3rd party - at least until that party overtakes the GOP or the GOP takes heed and cleans house.
