This is the letter GA Senators sent to POTUS this week..
We were "pretty loud" down here...
I think they at least heard some faint noise emanating outside the beltway.
DISCLAIMER: I still don't trust 'em... a'Tall

Dear Mr. President:
Although the Senate's effort to reform our nation's immigration laws through the Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007 is stalled, illegal immigration remains our nation's number one domestic issue. We therefore believe it is incumbent upon us and our colleagues to tackle this issue and not leave this problem for future generations to solve.
As we travel around Georgia and continue to hear from our constituents, the message from a majority of Georgians is that they have no trust that the United States Government will enforce the laws contained in this new legislation and secure the border first. This lack of trust is rooted in the mistakes made in 1986 and the continued chaos surrounding our immigration laws.
We believe the way to build greater support for immigration reform in the United States Senate and among the American public is to regain the trust in the ability of the federal government to responsibly administer immigration programs and enforce immigration laws. There is bipartisan agreement that we need to secure our borders first, and we believe this approach will serve as a platform towards addressing the other issues surrounding immigration reform.
To that end, we believe that you and your administration could alleviate many of the fears of our constituents by calling for an emergency supplemental bill to fully fund the border and interior security initiatives contained in legislation currently pending in the Senate, as well as any outstanding existing authorizations. Such a move would show your commitment to securing the border first and to stopping the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into our nation.
It will also work towards restoring the credibility of the federal government on this critical issue. [/uncontrollable laughter]
We urge you to carefully consider this request, and thank you for the opportunity to express the views of the people of Georgia on this matter.
Sincerely,
Saxby Chambliss
Johnny Isakson
We’ve all been chumped or about to and we all know it.
Until they demonstrate this, nobody is going to buy their promises.
That is it! The fence is a start, but without the personnel and the ROE to monitor our borders as well, the job isn’t done. We need the total package and NOW before anything else.
All they said was they wanted to "...alleviate many of the fears of our constituents by calling for an emergency supplemental bill to fully fund the border and interior security initiatives contained in legislation currently pending in the Senate, as well as any outstanding existing authorizations."
In other words, they still believe in this legislation. This is email equivalent of Saxby and Johnny urinating on your leg and trying to tell you that it is raining.
Burn up those phone lines, people!!!
Notice that they aren't talking about funding existing border security...only about funding the comprehensive immigration bill's security initiatives in advance to make us think they will actually do what they say.
I don't buy it. Supplemental funding to rapidly increase enforcement of existing law would be fine, but this looks like bait to get us to swallow the big hook.
LOCK THE DOOR. BUILD THE FENCE.
We should start calling our congressmen at this point. The senate will pass this turkey so our only chance is to jump heavy on our congressmen. We’re going to have to kill it in the house.
We could kill it in the House, but we have more clout in the Senate, if we stick together. I’d say it’s best to focus on the Senate right up until the last minute. There will be time to attack it in the House. Besides, the tougher it is to pass this in the Senate, the tougher it will be in the House.
Oh I don’t want to give up in the senate . It just seems to me that the senate is gearing up to put lipstick on this pig ,declare that they have fixed all it’s ills, proclaim it a victory for all mankind ,pass it, and start patting themselves on the back for the great job they did for us.
It's the same reason the Arizona Senators are sticking it to us. They're clamping down in that state also and cheap labor businesses don't like it.
How nice it is that they have paid lobbyists like Kyl and McCain working for them in the Senate.
Maybe, but let’s make it hard for the ba$tards. Glad you’re not giving up on the Senate!
Just say NO to Amnesty!! Keep calling!! Its NOT OVER!!

I would add no more anchor babies. There is no reason why we can’t get rid of a major incentive to break our laws which doesn’t decrease when there aren’t any jobs. It’s a cost-free policy with nothing to debate (although I’m sure the liberals will try to come up with something based on xenophobia).
