Supporters Of Immigration Bill Open To Stronger Measures (FR Mentioned, Pro-Amnesty Barf Alert)
Startasphere ^ | 6-13-2007 | A.J. Strata

Posted on 06/13/2007 12:09:47 PM PDT by jmc813

Just look at the tireless efforts to find compromise by the supporters of the immigration bill:

Negotiators also were considering harsher penalties for immigrants who overstay their visas or re-enter the country illegally, according to Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

“If you had mandatory jail time” for such offenses, Graham said, “I think it would create a deterrent.”

Another possible amendment, he said, would prohibit employers from participating in a new temporary worker program if they repeatedly break the law by hiring illegal workers.

All great ideas. But they will be dismissed by the far right. Because the “Amnesty” phrase in all their heated rhetoric is about providing a path to legal status for the 12+ million long term illegal aliens now in the country. These are good ideas broadly supported. Will the immigraiton hypochondriacs take these and finally pass the package? LOL! Well, if they ever wanted to prove AJStrata to be really, really wrong they would! If they lined up behind the bill with these additions (and no one is stopping them from making more suggestions later) then I will be wrong about them.

Excuse me if I am not too worried that I misunderstood the intentions of the obstructionists. When they use the term “Amnesty Bill” they are not worried about future violators….. We all know what that phrase applies to. It does not apply to border elements. You can’t give “amnesty” to a fence. It is not about future guest workers - they have done nothing yet to warrant “amnesty”. Same goes for anyone who commits a future infraction. The word is targetted at what is their big problem. They day they drop the phrase is the day I believe they are worried about some other aspect of this bill than the 12 million illegals here now (and it will be the day I will have to abandon my counter-phrase “immigration hypochondriacs”!).

Now contrast these sincere efforts with the KOS Kid wannabes at Free Republic. Calls of ‘liars’ and RINO and “gay cheerleader”. And people wonder why I am so happy to distance myself from these ‘people’? More far right bile here:

The other cabinet officer, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, said that failure to pass the bill would hurt the economy. “We will see rotting fruit” in the fields, Mr. Gutierrez said. “We will see lawns that don’t get cared for. We will see patients who don’t get cared for.”

Mr Gutierrez, I can grow my own vegetables, mow my own yard and I don’t want a disease infested illegal taking care of me when I am sick!

So bugger off!

This is the core of the crowd. I don’t care if other people are not this bad, but they are aligned with them. That is like aligning with David Duke because you see his proposal in a different light than he does. But when you align with him you give him YOUR credibility. Or, more likely, he takes yours down to his level. This is the heat behind the opponents of immigration reform. It is a foul and ugly heat.

Just so I have this clear

- I can’t oppose the war because the BDS gang is insane and vulgar.

-I can’t oppose this immigration bill because other opponents are vulgar and racist.

-I can’t eat schnitzel because Hitler probably really liked it.

-I can’t vote for a Libertarian because hippie potheads and 9/11 conspiracy types do.

-I can’t go to a Baptist church because of that sick Baptist congregation pickets funerals.

-I can’t use the Internet because Al Gore ... [Network Connection Terminated]

$10k fine per illegal worker per day. Enforcement will pay for itself, all offenders will be out of business, and the flood across the border will stop. A one sentence long immigration reform bill. You’re welcome.

I think he’s saying that everyone on FR is a racist.

But I’m not sure, his writing is too turgid.

Let's get serious, and stop this invasion.
If someone rents to an illegal, property surrendered.
If someone employs an illegal, one million dollar fine per illegal.

They will leave quickly if we become serious. The problem is, we aren't serious, and the illegals know we aren't serious......(sorry for the rant)

Foul and ugly heat my eye. The person who wrote this has absolutely no understanding of the law abiding citizen. Too bad.

I like the concise way that sums up my feelings too!

I don’t really know what he is saying here. It seems like a spew of hate against people who disagree with his opinion.

Something like, “everyone on FR is a racist and full of hate, that is why I hope they and their children all die and burn in hell.” words to that effect.

On another topic, the idea of increasing the penalties is a canard. The Feds have already proven to the n’th degree that they will not enforce the law. Without enforcement what difference does it make what the penalty is?

immigration hypochondriacs

I know most Mexicans don't go beyond 6th grade but I would think someone with his own website would think up a better name.

The laws are not enforced now. Why should we believe tougher laws will be enforced? Are we just supposed to go along with this madness so race card aficionados like Strata won’t call us names?

This is not over yet. Bush refuses to give up this easily. It's his stubborn character. He will try to resurrect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an addendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarrass these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

Welcome to Idiot World:

"harsher penalties for immigrants who overstay their visas or re-enter the country illegally"

Hmmmm... would someone tell Strata and Graham that "immigrants" can't overstay their visas, because, well, they're immigrants. They also are authorized to leave and re-enter the country within certain parameters, again because they're immigrants.

"If you had mandatory jail time" for such offenses, Graham said, "I think it would create a deterrent."

OK, Linds. But consider this: "immigrants" can't overstay their visas, because they've been appoved to be here and to... immigrate! The 15 million Amnesty visas (Z visas) you're about to hand out are also permanent, so no overstayers there, either. They also get exit and re-entry privileges.

So I predict the actual target of these "harsher penalties" and "jail time" will be Australian kids on holiday, grandmas visiting their naturalized sons and daughters, and Candadian and Brit K1 fiancee applicants wishing to see their honeys while under ajudication (while their application is being processed, which is an immigration offense equivalent to illegal entry).

"Another possible amendment, he said, would prohibit employers from participating in a new temporary worker program if they repeatedly break the law by hiring illegal workers."

Hey Strata! Listen up!

The Z visa is intended almost exclusively to Amnesty and legalize the 15 million or more illegal aliens now here. Upon George Bush's signature they become instantly legal, including work autorization. Hence, employers will no longer have any "illegal workers" in their employ.

This is the best "horse out of the barn" proposal that we've seen in this years's debate.

Anyone who believes that new measures will truly address the security concerns needs to read the article published by a pro-American Mexican named Fredo Arias-King. He worked with the Fox team in the elections of 1999. In private meetings with U.S legislators he was privy to their real attitudes toward immigration and their white constituencies. He published his observations online HERE. A couple gems from the article:
Some legislators had also mentioned to us (oftentimes laughing) how they had "defanged" or "gutted" anti-immigration bills and measures, by neglecting to fund this program or tabling that provision, or deleting the other measure, etc. "Yes, we passed that law, but it can’t work because we also…" was a usual comment to assuage the Mexican delegations.
While I can recall many accolades for the Mexican immigrants and for Mexican-Americans (one white congressman even gave me a "high five" when recalling that Californian Hispanics were headed for majority status), I remember few instances when a legislator spoke well of his or her white constituents. One even called them "rednecks," and apologized to us on their behalf for their incorrect attitude on immigration. Most of them seemed to advocate changing the ethnic composition of the United States as an end in itself.
...One leading Republican senator over a period of months was advising us, through a mutual acquaintance, about which mechanisms to follow and which other legislators to lobby in order to ensure passage of the amnesty proposal. In the meantime, he would speak on television about the need to "militarize" the border. This senator was recently singled out by a taxpayer’s advocacy group as a leader in "pork"-related politics...
As Arias-King points out, these attitudes are widespread in BOTH parties.

So they will promise us the moon regarding enforcement provisions because they know they will never have to deliver.

The article is called, "Immigration and Usurpation: Elites, Power, and the People’s Will." It's a bit long, but a must read. There was also an FR thread about the article a couple weeks ago HERE. I'm suprised talk radio hasn't mentioned the article explicitly because it's written by a pro-American insider who knows the Machiavellism of our leaders first hand.

Read: This is so much bull sh** because we will NEVER enforce anything anyway, so what's the problem with making false "threats to enforce tough measures." Ha ha ha!
