Promises, Definitions

Promises:

The National Intelligence Reform Act of 2004 included a requirement to add 10,000 border patrol agents in the five years beginning with 2006. Only 210 new border agents have thus far been funded. A 2/10ths of 1% performance rating equals failure, not of the Act itself - but from a willful neglect of duty.

Fast forward to two years later.

The Secure Fence Act of 2006 included a requirement to construct 700 miles of secure border barrier, of which only two miles of new and nine miles of repaired structure has thus far been put in place. Again, a 3/10ths of 1% performance rating equals failure, not of the Act within itself - but from a willful neglect of duty.

Fast forward to a short seven and a half months later.

Capitol Hill introduces the “Grand Bargain” Immigration and Reform Act - a scheme of legislation which again makes empty promises of securing America’s borders without first having shown any significant deterrent effect prior to providing 12-20 million illegal aliens protection from the justice exacted by those laws they’ve violated. This is nothing short of amnesty for 12- 20 million illegal aliens. By comparison, should just one legal immigrant applicant be discovered to have willfully violated US law or even incidentally answered a question falsely, they’d immediately be disqualified from the US immigrations process.

Definitions:

Americans are assured this “Grand Bargain” isn’t “amnesty”. If this isn’t “amnesty” by its very definition, can Americans be confidently assured those on Capitol Hill comprehend the normally accepted definition of “enforcement”? Do Legislators believe they have the power vested in themselves to revise definitions of words like they have power to revise law? If the latter is the consensus among Legislators, then law nor the Constitution can mean anything definitive. America is in danger.

Not only did a majority of Americans decry and denounce the "Grand Bargain" of America's compromise, Americans sent and are sending a resounding message to Legislators, (and Senator Graham, pay particularly close attention) "Shut up and LISTEN!".

Thus far, the evidence suggests Americans should hold out little hope any of the "Grand Bargain's" enforcement provisions will be given so much as a 3/10ths of 1% effort, since definitively "enforcement" appears as elusive to Lawmakers as does the definition of amnesty. Until what was already promised, negotiated, and enacted into law becomes reality, it's understandable how Americans can do anything but look upon those on Capitol Hill with contempt, disdain, and shame.

America is searching for those to whom definitions carry traditional meaning and those whose word remains a symbol of honor.

American Patriots are saying to dubious Legislators, “We simply do not trust you. Prove you’re worth placing our trust in, fulfill your obligations. Keep your word with honor. Otherwise, accept your well earned votes of no confidence.”

I agree....these guys are playing a dangerous game. We don’t need any additional Bills. Only thing Congress and the courts need to do is inforce existing law. They are just using immigration as a political tool at our expense. Build the wall, enforce our laws and get on with it. Like I’ve said time and time again....you can’t deport all the illegals...........UNTIL YOU START.

"Fool me once, shame on you...."

Unfortunately, the Bushes have fooled me twice, once with Daddy, now with Junior. The Adams family they have NOT proven to be---more like the Addams family.

But not again. Anything named Bush can count on my total opposition in the future.

Until there’s at least one of those two laws fully funded, implemented, and with historical operational data published proving its ineffectiveness, I’ll never concede there’s nothing the US can do to stop and then to reduce 12-20 million aliens to a more manageable number.

America CAN do this.
