Tony Snow is about to appear live on FOX & Friends on FOX News. The subject is Bush's push for immigration "reform".
They would if there would be no documentation or spoken translation to help them once the gov’t benefits business was shut down.
Great thread you have going. It’s still in breaking news at the top.
Care to elaborate? Sounds like you are attempting to add insult to injury...
So someone who disagrees with you automatically is a liar?
That’s too bad for you.
Again, I know its a stretch, but how about this:
Send 4 ICE agents and 2 DoJ prosecutors to, say, any Hormel or Tyson plant or any major construction site in America.
Locate the plant/site boss, and serve him with a cease-and-desist order, a warrant for the arrest of his upper management, a search warrant, and a RICO lawsuit. Wait 15 minutes and watch as the illegal alien employees exit the facility at high speed.
Make sure the action is well-publicized, then do it again and again in different cities across America for a month or two.
At the end of this impossible experiment, notice the large numbers of illegal aliens crossing the border to Mexico, the opening of jobs across America, and the decreasing numbers of single males loitering in 7-11 parking lots all across the fruited plain.
Contrary to your belief, I think it would be quite an orderly acknowledgment that America has immigration laws, and penalties for violating them..
it’s obvious that the boomarang was waiting in the wings. you can’t have control without lose of freedom. To me it’s not worth it unless the other things are done to beef up the cultural ID of the USA (language laws for government to be all English MANDATORY) and the border patrol. the people who can write the law ought to be extracting a very large pound of cultural flesh from the proponents. You know what settles down a radical non-conformist in the government? Make it mandatory that they speak English and that all signage is written only in English. That takes a big bullet from the multiculturalist liberal’s gun.
The process should have been fine— fighting the good fight.
I agree absolutely that the GOP has lost its way, and it started after Newt left Congress.
The point is as you say that it was pursued badly then. And I believe it was pursued badly now.
I read somewhere recently that there's increasing legal acknowledgement that ordinary citizens might be justified in lodging RICO lawsuits against the employers of illegals.
Wish I could recall where I read that.
your papers please. it’s the only way to clamp down if you are serious. otherwise this wave of illegals just gets replaced with another after the passage of more time.
My mother was a legal immigrant and my grandparents were legal aliens.
The legal process is brutal.
Tony is a shill for President Bush. Few of the DC crowd gives a F about this country.
I've done all I can including citing precedents of what Ike did 50 years ago.
America has had it. I've resigned myself to that. Already I don't recognize this country from what it was when I was a kid (born 1950). And in 20 years, the Flag will be an ass-wipe for the larger populace.
Very much so.
The President should stick with his vow and promise of January 2004, and insist that Congress make the Z visa a temporary work visa, which expires after a period of time, and after which our guests return to their home countries.
See, it's easy. George Bush need only follow through on his committments and promises.
Read Moose4. We had a good conversation and his points would give you an answer that you like better.
Well, good job on spanking us Conservatives.
You are a Dem or a RINO on this issue.
It really is a very simple issue.
(1) We have relatively simple laws.
(2) The relatively simple laws are not being enforced by the same folks who assure us that new, complex, hard to enforce laws will be enforced.
(3) A simple, effective reform law would be like: (a) no anchor babies; (b) no taxpayer monies to any illegal; (c) serious enforcement of “no illegals hiring” rules, with heavy fines and jail time for employers.
Might not then even need a fence.
Likely over half the 25 or so million illegals would leave w/o need to be forced.

Don’t need 700+ pages of legalese for that.

Good luck with the fence. The Big Dig still isn’t paid for. We have the Ted Williams tunnel and we call the other one the Esther Williams tunnel as it continues to leak.
If you believe that the only way is to have someone show you first, you might want to go back and read what Moose4 posted.
Nope. Border Security & Wall will stop the numbers you speak of... I already have a SS card, a Drivers Liscense & and NRA Card (lol)...I don’t need any more papers.
Well, national id cards can then be issued to all Mexican citizens, before they come here. Cost effective measure. After all, everyone is legal. Felons especially.
I was actually posting an item written by Sister Toldjah and didn’t realize that it wasn’t clear.
It’s important to have a good debate, as she wrote in that post and to fight vigorously. Where she is fair and on the mark is the conduct on both sides that undermined the very work that was in process.
And yet he edits the bill here
