I was objecting to the use of the word “honor” in describing this punk! I don’t care what his grades were. It doesn’t matter. Honor has no part of this.
He broke the law. He should be punished; she should be locked up somewhere if it was truly consensual. If the law is “unfair” then the law should be changed and his sentance commuted.
I’d say the same thing to this kid and to all of his defenders as I would say to Bill Clinton: Keep it zipped.

The term was "Honor Student", which is a title describing of his academic performance. Separating the word "honor" out changes the meaning.
It's not so different from having to call a judge "Your Honor", regardless of what the judge's character is.
No other kids has been sentenced this way...plenty of 17 year old white boys have had sex with their girlfriends. This kid got slammed because he was black, and she was white. This is just plain wrong. It is inconceivable to me that you would want this boy to rot in jail while the law is changed.

With ignoramuses like you shouting "cruciry him", I AM afraid for the republic. The law WAS changed just after he was convicted. Unfortunately it was not retroactive. This just brings him inline with current law.
