If the amnesty bill in the Senate passes, we're going after any Republican Senator up in 2008 who votes for it. Conservatives put these Senators into office and if they won't listen to us, then we will replace them in the primaries with Senators who will.
Hopefully, the Republicans in the Senate will come to their senses and filibuster this bill. But, if they don't, we're going to teach the GOP to respect their base again -- the hard way.

“Ravenel just won State Treasurer last year. Jumping so soon after that might damage him politically. Well see.”
That might have been true before Grahams support of amnesty.
I now believe the folks would more than forgive him if he ran against Lindsey Kennedy Graham.
Didn’t see any red flags on this in the replies...
I don’t recall (so to speak) a provision in the Constitution allowing for the recall of Senators, but perhaps I don’t parse the elections clauses cleverly enough.
Thanks for your correction. Yes, it is better now. Lots of traitors to our country to go around in both political zoos.
“...we should go after them just for attempting to pass it...”
Amen, you are absolutely correct. Reprehensible traitors—all of the political elitists that support it now or later. Their “in your face” arrogance is reprehensible. Our founding fathers are turning in their graves along with all the American patriots in Arlington. Their thirst for power has no limits except the American people stopping them.
“Mel Martinez will have a FULL warchest of money from the GOP”
Martinez fired all the telephone solicitors last week because few people were contributing...so the RNC is hurting right now
If that keeps up the warchest will be full of moths...
And I dont believe the people in the Republican base are going to forget it a hurry...
In TN we are wary about Alexander ...He supported the AMNESTY Bill....
Lots of folks here have voiced disappointment in him...
Well, I was just wanting to check it out......
If something smells funny, you really dont have to pick it up and turn it over to see that it’s a cow platter...
Indeed.

In other words, he didn't want any other Republican consultant getting influence with Bush.
That explains the "new tone" instead of purging all the Dem and other anti-American types from the administration, imho.
The Dem consultants were supporting and shilling for them.
If a wienie like Graham cannot be challenged and defeated in a primary in a historically conservative state like S C, then all is lost.
Years of saying "yes but he is better than the Democrat" have gradually neutralized the conservative voice. A captive constituency need not be heeded. When liberals in the party said "you just want to be pandered to, look at the big picture" too many people of character compromised on what was important, and what they would support. Basically conservative republicans gave away long term authority for short term gains. It was predictable, and many people have warned that it was happening for decades.
Kyl isn’t that bad. Didn’t he blink at the end?
most anyone would be better than "light in his loafers lindsey".
