US President George W. Bush, leaving behind thousands of anti-Bush protesters in Rome, got a hero's welcome in Albania on Sunday as he became the first American president to visit this tiny impoverished nation.
When Mr. Bush arrived on his brief stop in Tirana, the hills overlooking the capital boomed as military cannons fired a 21-gun salute to the president. Thousands of people gathered in the downtown square on a brilliantly sunny day to see the president and first lady Laura Bush

Albania!
Albania!
You border on the Adriatic
Your land is mostly mountainous
And your chief export is Chrome.

Probably not. The media would be too busy taking pics of the protesters in Rome.

Can’t we have one thread where our president is actually getting credit for something, not be hijacked into an immigration Bushbashing thread?

There are certain things that MGD and I can't say or think about without a movie / TV association. "Albania" is one of them.
You're correct, by the way :o)

Unfortunately that is the state of Free Republic these days civility and respect for your President no longer seems to exist amongst certain freepers.

Not all of us are into blind hero worship (unlike some of you). Bush hasn’t displayed any civility or respect to conservatives; no reason why such feelings shouldn’t be mutual.
Get a life, Bushbot.

I don’t think it is serving any purpose. The amnesty bill was killed. Instead of holding grudges, we need to focus our energy on getting good Republicans elected in 08.

Amen. I’m sick of the whining. We get enough of that from the democrats. Sometimes, I have a hard time telling this site apart from some of the liberal sites.

I dont see why I should discount these opinions; I dont think a single response had anything to do with the Paul/Buchanan/Tancredo lobby, as alleged.
Comment:
I see that Deb has read the Linda Chavez manifesto.
I suspect that Deb is a shill for the pro bigotry crowd against White Anglo Saxon Protestants.
Her comments certainly need to be examined carefully and the stamp of racist bigot applied firmly.

I don't often venture into the muck & mire that anti Bush folks spew from every orifice but I have to say: I concur with Snugs! Tis not blind hero worship of Pres. Bush!
Rather respect for, and honor of. And praying for, not praying to!
I worship Jesus only, and I pray to Him re: everything including Pres. B. & The US Troops and Allies...

& I got more good news for ya ...Pres. B. also only worships & prays to Jesus about what to do;what to say & what to pray for and about!
& he definatly has “peace that passeth all understanding” 24/7 if I ever saw it!

indcons,
You can disagree with The President on certain issues and still be polite and respectful. That does not make Sungs, or myself, or anyone who generally supports The President a “bushbot”.
He’s still head an shoulders above the alternative, or do you think President Kerry would have done a better job?
