I wonder if there are trolls in St. Louis.

Not that I am aware of, although most of the columnists there are syndicated in other venues. But since it is basically a conservative site it does not hurt to link to them in this manner. My objective with the numerous articles I have posted in the last week, more than I have ever posted in a short period of time, is to boost traffic to FR. It seems to be working. We have had a drop in traffic based on Alexis ratings in the USA of more than a hundred spots in the last two months or so. Since I and others have increased posting of articles, some of which are controversial and others, like this one, which is designed mainly to draw traffic, our rating slide appears to have been halted. We in fact have been improving compared to DailyKos and RCP in the last week or so in the US rankings. The more volume of interesting and/or provocative articles we post the more traffic we will draw. That is my overall objective in addition to adding my own thoughts on politics and other subjects.
Problem is, American management no longer seems able to think outside the box. Those firms that allow flexible hours seem to do very well, but many managers (colleagues of mine, included) seem to have difficulty managing staff that is not physically present. Therefore, we lose the advantages of highly efficient telecommuting, etc. Unless we overcome that, the technology only helps our competition. Likewise, variable commuting schedules are efficient on our resources, but work only if employers are competent enough to accomodate them.
If we wait a while before we ban our trolls will it increase our traffic flow even more?
I was thrilled when they took out the toll booths on I-95 in CT. I haven’t lioved there in 20 years, but just knowing they are gone still brings a smile to my face. I’m not sure what the solution is, but giving the government more money sounds like the wrong one.
