Bush urges independence for Kosovo
Associated Press ^ | 6/10/07 | Jennifer Loven

..... a robust greeting in the predominantly Muslim country.

Huge banners proclaimed "Proud to be Partners," and billboards read "President Bush in Albania Making History." Red-white-and-blue paper top hats with stars on top were passed out to well-wishers in this Balkan nation. Albania has such an affinity for America that it issued three postage stamps with Bush's picture and the Statue of Liberty and renamed a street in front of parliament in his honor.

"I love to come to countries that are working hard to establish institutions necessary for democracies to survive," Bush said.

Protestors in other European countries and Al-Qaida are probably mad at the muslim Albanians for greeting our President so enthusiatically

Haven’t the media tried to spin this as a victory for Bill Clinton yet?

They’re not going to be so enthusiastic when they find out he just bent over to Putin regarding Kosovo. It’s nice to see this though, especially coming so soon after the Fort Dix Six.

Not yet, but it’s sure to come. The MSM will find a dark cloud in this news somewhere; or, they won’t report it.

“Albania has such an affinity for America that it issued three postage stamps with Bush’s picture and the Statue of Liberty and renamed a street in front of parliament in his honor.”

Oh, what about the Turks? They are Muslim, albeit secular Muslims.

HA! I checked out the headlines on mainstream media web sites; all have this visit portrayed with the welcoming signs for President Bush EXCEPT MSNBC; which has NO story about it at all. Typical.

We should be too. In Bush's zeal to find support among the Muslim world he is aiding in the destruction of a foreign nation, Serbia.

Give the media time. They will find five protestors in a back alley, somewhere.

I have found some very explicit anti albanian, pro genocide/russia/serbian propaganda among a lot of the users here. Lets set this record straight. First off, Albania is a friend of the US and has been an ally since communism fell. Albania has been a major contributor to the war on terror providing troops, material support, and allowing CIA prisons. George tenet, a clinton crony but still head of our CIA was from Albania. You people who support the serbs are supporting an extension of the Putinism and former soviet bloc ideals. If you want to be on the side that is actively selling nuclear materials to terrorist (iran) and providing logisitical support to every country that counters the US then so be it. You people should recognize who your friends are and quit trying to alienate them. 15-20% of albanians are christian, and the rest being muslim are not extremist. It was unfortunate for that Ft. Dix plot to materialize, but lets face it we have a lot of non muslim wackos who shoot up schools and universities. I just want you all to look at the big picture of Albania and Kosovos independence. Serbia is not a friend of the US and never has been, its an extension of Russian foreign policy.

Kosovo = muslim = blew up WTC, killing US soldiers in Iraq.

Serbia = not muslim = did not blow up WTC, is not killing US soldiers in Iraq.

As George Bush once said, but has forgotten or retracted, “If you are not with us, you are against us.”

I’m with Putin on this one. Let the Slavs alone, George.

Absurd.

I guess those innocent women and children massacred by the serbs were ‘against us’.

The Americans and Brits are LOVED by these people for saving them.

To suggest they are our enemy is absurd and quite disgraceful.

There is a huge difference between Albania and Kosovo.

I think there are many in Albania who fear Kosovo’s independence, because currently thanks to Hoxha’s anti-religion crusade, there is relative little muslim extremism in Albania itself, even 20+ years after Enver assumed room temperature.

The same cannot be said with regards to Kosovo, where under Tito, repression of religion was not nearly as harsh.

And it is clearly the goal of the UCK, to not only rule over an independent Kosovo, but to inevitably rule over all of “Greater Albania.”

Granting Kosovo independence, will sow the seeds of an Albanian Civil War, which will make the breakup of Yugoslavia look like a walk in the park.

Kind of a neat trick tiwisting the truth to suit your fantasies isn’t it? Did your Commie professors teach you to do that? Or maybe the friendly bearded imami?
