Now you know how folks in California have felt for decades.
Most Americans are not opposed to immigration, we are just opposed to importing HUGE numbers of impoverished third world welfare dependents. Expecting us to shut up and smile while an enormous financial and cultural burden is imposed on us is not reasonable.
nO.
really?
hmmmmmmmmmm
don’t think so...
think he is a wise *ss with a sense of humor that GETS IT....
we all have different approaches...but— I think he GETS it......
Just MHO!
;-)
HOPE SO!
Smear. People who believe in capitalism with a good police force to keep businessmen like you honest are ordoliberals, not Marxists.
But then, as long as he's insisting that you pay First World and not Third World wages to First World workers, you probably need some sort of name to bash him with.
Bet you'd let the snakeheads run in 120,000,000 Chinese, half of them reservists in the PLA, if it would help break U.S. wages.
ec, if women are paid less than men and there was a CEO position which normally paid $2 million but they were willing to hire you at $700,000, isn’t this a contract if you decide to accept?
The problem with demonizing employers is twofold- it detracts the focus from the person entering the country without following due process and it’s wrong to treat all businesses as criminals if there are many that want to abide by the law. You may think you know companies that don’t abide by the law, but it’s wrong to smear all businesses as such.
As conservatives, the core includes a focus on the individual, his or her rights and responsibilities.
The higher up the blame goes, the less accountability is held.
If the borders were secured as per the existing laws, wouldn't the marketplace solve the labor shortage problem?
I was stunned by what she had to say but was pleasantly surprised that Howie showed the over-the-top comments by MSNBCs favorite conservative (yeah, Joe is a conservative!). Unfortunately I think this just shows what the campaign against Fred will be like. I loved Fred’s response to Joe....”badge of honor to be attacked by those bozos” and was also glad that Howie showed that remark as well.
True.
It would be like the Big Dig on steroids.
Bad idea.
If private citizens wanted a fence, far better for the dreaded private sector to do it (not at the behest of any political organization or bureau) than to put it in the hands of those who will not go out of business if they spend from now until kingdom come.
the point is valid when referrring to legal citizens able to fully take advantage of our laws that safeguard against such abuses....
however- Illegal residents do not enjoy full protection of our laws- people from other 3rd worlds countries or communist gov’t (like China) do not have these luxeries.
So - what you do is pit the American citizen worker against “slave” labor... what you get is a race to the bottom....
Thanks for that link, anita!
Um Rodguy agree with your position. REALLY not at all smart to go into default setting of full red face screaming rant mode at your own side.
For your edification. I shall draw attention to your 1st 3 post. Seems you ARE the very epitome of what I pointed out in my post on this issue. To wit:
Today's posts by Cedric:
These are not responses, these are 3 post on this thread by Cedric. Notice how completely gratuitous these offerings are to the debate. Note all are mere flaming rants with out the slightest hint of a single fact. NOT ONE FACT. Just childish personal attacks and hyperbolic hysteric rants.
#264 Yes, you have problems.
#292 Did ya hear the one about the insecure, hypersensitive, holier-and-more-pure-than-thou weenie who arrogantly directed an opponent to desist from personal attacks and called the aforementioned opponent a thug in the process, thereof
(He especially liked this post since he continued to spam it 3 more time to other people during the day)
#308 The sixth word you wrote will, I believe, prove to be an insurmountable hurdle for poor, old Bray.
But thank you for posting here today. It was nice of you to spend so much time proving my point today.
Here I present item 1.
Cedric, a completely typical example of what is the Antis political Achilles heel. The absolute inability of the bulk of the Antis to ague this issue with anything resembling thought or reason.
Thank you Freeper Cedric. As is typical for the loudest of the Antis around 'Net, Cedric here has spent the whole day screaming bile at anyone who doesn't follow his "Dogma Uber Alles" mindset 100%.
Either you bow to Cedric's absolutest Authoritarian ideas or "you are a traitor". This is the debate tactics I spoke about in my 1st post.
This sort of snarling rage and continually spewing bile may make all the macho boy Anti Illegal 'Net warriors feel all giddy. It will not win political candidates they support any new voters.
And thanks be to God, without the voters, all their bellowing and posturing is just so much wasted bandwith.
Durbin just lies and lies and lies.
^^^^^
Doesn’t that line about “we debated this bill for two weeks” make your ears ache!?
It would not hurt to hear from both sides of the immigration issue. The MSM does not like to present such a comparison in a balanced way however.
Sounds like a very bad country western ballad.
it is the job of those sworn into office to protect the people from foreign invasion and enforce our borders....
They CLAIM they cannot do it— combursome, costly, etc...
but yet— they can handle 6,000- yes 6,000- EARMARKS on a highway bill!
PAHLEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!
:-) Hooray! Thanks, snugs! I loved to see these pictures.
Is this your first encounter with Cedric?
