Have we, as a nation, become completely fascinated with stupid chicksor what?!?
Girls, if you want to have our societys spotlight shine down on you for no real reason other than youre an idiotic, drunken narcissistic whore, well then . . . this is your window of opportunity, girlfriend! (*Remember: the opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity. You can get more successful loser principles from my new book, 10 Habits of Decidedly Defective People: The Successful Losers Guide to Life!)
Yes, ladies, if you . . .
1. are a semi-decent looking ditz with fake, cantaloupe sized ta-tas,
2. are a mediocre singer who can sort of dance at the same time,
3. are able to quasi-convincingly deliver a line when directed,
4. dont mind stripping once a Nelly song starts spinning,
5. are cool with having your crotch photographed more often than the Grand Canyon,
6. are okay with sleeping with various animate and inanimate objects while being filmed,
. . . then you need to get an agent, because you have all the makings of star. I guarantee, el Niña, youre about to become very rich and famous in this vapid and fetid postmodern milieu.
Americans, it seems, cant get enough of the immoral dumb chum that emits from the splooged brains like that of Lindsay, Britney, Paris and their wannabe ogling entourage. No wonder al Qaeda calls us the Great Satan.
For clarification purposes, lest someone think that Im gay (not that theres anything wrong with that) Im all for watching and appreciating beautiful women. But cmon, America, enough is enough. Ive seen these chicks private parts via ET, TMZ and E! more than I have seen my own and Im 44 years old.
Yknow, it wouldnt be so bad to see these whacky wenches on our air waves if the media was fair and balanced in showing an equal chunk of accomplished women who have risen to notoriety without having to shine Clintons apple. But that aint gonna happen. At least not anytime soon. Maybe after the next terrorist attack on US soil wakes us the hell up. But not for now. As a culture, we have officially traded the applause we used to give to the truly noteworthy and have bestowed it upon the nebulous tramp.
Youd figure that after Anna Nicole Smith self destructed, died and went to an early heaven (cough) that these loose and loopy lassies would have learned a lesson. However, as Douglas Adams said, Human beings, almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
I can hear Paris apologists now saying, Oh, but these girls are cute, and what theyre doing is just part of adolescent high jinks. After all, as Cyndi Lauper sang, girls just wanna have fun. Yeah, theyre cute. And yes, its entertaining. That is, until one of these oxygen thieves kills a kid in one of her drunken driving escapades. At that point, the cuteness and the amusement and our cavalier attitude regarding their asinine behavior will be officially over.
It should have ended a long time ago.

Paris Hilton is a tragic figure. People who pray ought to pray for her.
The obsession is with celebrity and the “fall.” It appeals to the basic American belief that no bad deed goes unpunished and everything comes with a price.
Kind of a fairytale mythology played out in the news cycle.
I guess that the author has never heard of Zsa Zsa Gabor, the Paris Hilton of her era.
This is not unique to modern times.
That's where I stopped reading.
She is a tragic figure who has had the misfortune of the fact that her family, friends and sycophants find her behavior and attitude “amusing.” Hopefully, she will now get the help she needs.
As long as dumb people have the money to pay for their bad choices, they will continue to make bad choices.
Read some of the author’s other stuff, he is being sarcastic.
I hope only the media whores are interested in these “celebrities”. I haven’t heard a normal person express any interest in them,
Agreed. Watching yesterday’s news was like OJ revisited.
Oh my, she blew a .08 and drove with a suspended license.
Her life is over.
BTW I turned on an episode of her tv show the other night. Did I actually see her and Nicole Richie giving people enemas and watching them go to the bathroom? Tell me it was a bad dream.
So is the author one of those who has bought into the mentality that our morality (or lack of) is the reason that jihadists want to kill us all?
I have long thought that she was behind the sex tape being released and that she did it to achieve more celebrity.
It’s a line from Seinfeld.
“Paris Hilton is a tragic figure.”
Um, no, Paris Hilton is a brainless, weakling tramp. There is a difference. Not all children of privilege become attention addicts; vain, shallow, hedonistic and terrible examples to young people who may be watching.
Some brainless tramps offer the excuse for “selling out” that they needed money to make their dreams come true “...and to give their CHILDREN the life that they deserve, blahblahblah” (as if anybody’s CHILDREN would want a sell-out tramp for a mother - especially one who uses them to rationalize it). Hilton doesn’t even have that excuse, such as it is. No pity here.
She had the chances and resources to change the world for the better that the rest of us can only dream of, and how did she use them? Did you see that Carl’s Jr. commercial? Did you ever watch “The Simple Life”? That show whose only message seemed to be “Common decency is for the little people”? And now we’re supposed to feel sooooo sorry for her. It’s such a tragedy. What existential angst I’m experiencing.
Sorry, not a chance.
And now were supposed to feel sooooo sorry for her. Its such a tragedy. What existential angst Im experiencing.
No, you’re “supposed” to be feeling exactly what you are feeling. This is the end of the second act — the fall from grace. If she survives it, then she gets to marry adequately, pop out a couple kids and become an entry in “Whatever Became of...”
26 is a little old for adolescence.
