About 2 years ago, I saw a small Christian band member talk about an encounter he had with Paris in Austin, Texas. She and the crew were filming a Simple Life segment in a coffee shop where he was hanging out. He is a cute 20 something guy with a few Christian friends along. She started flirting with him and asked them to meet for drinks. He told her he did not drink because of his faith and Nichole Richie started teasing him. He asked if there was anything they would like for him to pray about. They just joked it off, but later, Paris came back over. "Are you serious about the prayer thing?" she asked. The guy was startled, but assured her he was. "Pray that I will be happy".
This story was told to a concert audience by "random chance". I take this as confirmation that I am indeed to pray for Paris. This week has been busy. I pray that she finds real joy, peace, and a relationship with Jesus.
Jail may just be the place for this to happen.
Wow. Poor girl. I'm praying for her too.
Because it is all about me
What I know of Paris is from seeing bits and pieces of her reality show on TV. She’s definitely a spoiled rich girl but it’s obvious there’s more to her than that. In one of the shows she was basically babysitting some average joe middle class kids at their home. Mom and Dad were out for a few days and she was in charge. She was sort of being the flaky older sister — struggling to do basic things like cooking a pot of mac and cheese, not knowing how to work the dishwasher, etc — and she was just such a sweetheart about the whole thing. As I recall, she bonded with the kids and they bonded with her. It was just really sweet. Maybe it was an act — even reality shows are a performance to some extent — but I don’t think so. I think under it all she’s basically okay.
I wish more people had your attitude. I've been praying for her too.
My grandmother had the same prayer conviction about Michael Landon.
Funny how God works, isn’t it!
