it will continue to lose ground.

Why? Maybe I'm stupid but I do not see where Democrats are going to be better. I think they'll be far worse.

Rassmussen:

During the full month of May, just 16% Strongly Approved of the way the President has performed his role and 45% Strongly Disapproved. Both those figures are also the worst ever recorded for the President who lost ground across all partisan and demographic groups. (see comments on comparing data from different firms).

Additionally, during the month of May, the number of people identifying themselves as Republicans fell once again to a new low—30.8%. However, the number of Democrats also fell again and now rests at the lowest level in seventeen months.

That's not what I said. I said that if the R's try to stick with the current RNC game plan, they are going to continue to lose ground to the D's. Of course the D's would be worse. I'm terrified of D control of the presidency and the congress. But not so terrified that I can't see the log in my own party's eye. And it's a big, honkin' log.

The Bush administration is now over. The Republican party has to figure out a way to survive its demise. More of the same will not work.
