Thanks for reminding me that I’m an ‘anti-American, fear mongering bigot’ — I almost forgot that slap. (Not worthy of our President.)

“So you are claiming that Bush trashed himself on purpose to allow those that came after to draw a distinction between themselves and his administration?

Funny thing about sacrifices...when you are trying to hit a home run and come up short, it may look like a sacrifice fly...

It all depends on what was in his heart, and his heart has been clear on this for a long time...he was trying to hit a home run.”

Mainly wondering if he had another motive, but can live with your assessment of his wanting to hit it out of the park.

My bet is it will be Hillary*.

And I pray I will be wrong

*It will be Hillary, short of a nuclear/WMD attack.

“Funny there is no vitriol here directed at Ronald Reagan who signed an amnesty bill in 1986.”

Now you’re going after Ronnie? LOL.

Explain to me how electing a liberal Republican advances a conservative agenda.

Hare's a hint: committees.

Ya see, that thar presidunce, if he'ums appoints a supreeme court justiss, that there justiss has to git wat they call "out of committee" to git to the full sinate for conformation.

Nows iff'n the sinate joodisharwy committee is a headed by dimocrat, becase the dimocrats have wats called a 'majorety" welluns, its mightly unlikely that a cornservative judge is a gonna git aproved by the committe anna git himself or herself to the full sanite for conformation. Thats becaus whens the demeycrats holden that mejority they has more members on the joowdishairy committee than them elephants. Anna ya hafta get yerself wut they call "comfirned" by the committee to git to the sinate for to become a reel judge.

I hope that hepped. I can cipher, to!

Thousands of Republicans have changed their voter registration to "independent."

I'd like for RCP to source this...

Funny there is no vitriol here directed at Ronald Reagan who signed an amnesty bill in 1986.

There was no Internet and no FR along with other (and no Rush I believe, could be wrong)conservative sites then. I don’t believe immigration was the issue then that it is now either. We tended to believe our politicians back then when they told us the bill would regulate illegal immigration. If it were Reagan proposing this bill now he would receive the same scepticism Bush has received.

From RCP: The proportion of voters who identify themselves as Republicans has fallen to 30.8 percent from 37.3 percent during the 2004 election campaign, according to a recent Rasmussen poll.

"Why is it you and your buddies find it necessary to trash Reagan? If you think that will improve Bush’s image or that of your favorite leftie candidate, you are sadly mistaken."

I think you're on to something here....

So you propose to let Bush go on doing what he’s doing even if you don’t believe in it? Stupid is as stupid does.

"Perhaps President Bush knew this bill was destined for failure. Just a thought."

Is that why he attacked his base? Is he pleased with the result? Clever guy, huh?

You have no principles other than the Republicans are always good. Well, I don’t buy that bunk. You would vote for a communist, homosexual, drug addict if he/she was a Republican.

On Judges and taxcuts alone Bush has done far more good for the Conservative Movement's future then all the screaming lunatics on the radio, or penning columns.

Cutting taxes and appointing conservative judges isn't exactly bold leadership for a REPUBLICAN, it's expected.

Does a person always agree with everything a president does? I just hate it that FR has become so much like DU. If you disagree with someone just call them stupid or a moron or something equally degrading. I think with all the Bush and Republican bashing going on, we are tearing the Party apart. Instead of all the bashing and name calling, why don’t we actually propose some solutions and then implement them. Its easy to be a keyboard commando. People can respectfully disagree.

Heh! Far from it.

But because of you and your buddies who are bent on destroying the GOP I'm going to have to spend a lot more money on firearms and ammo than my current budget allows--before president Hillary Clinton.

But who knows?--I remember when a FN FAL that went for about $400, within two years it was worth over $1,000. I could make a fortune by investing in Barrett light .50 BMGs!

That would be sweet revenge, while laughing at the stupid suckers who tore the GOP apart in 2007.

I was cheering in response to post 3. I agree that we can’t have 100% of what we want and I am sick of the Bush bashing and getting nothing solved but sounding like DU. It seems every single thread, no matter what the subject is turned into a chance to bash Bush. The cheering was over the top and if I offended anyone I apologize.

As far as the namecalling, no I absolutely don’t condone it. I have been called insane, stupid, and delusional among other things. But I can handle it.
