I don’t believe they would check them at all!

FRom Michelle Malkin's site a couple days ago...

Shamnesty on the Senate floor, Day 3 Coburn pushes for full enforcement of existing laws
Reid: "This is the president's bill;" Trent Lott "serves notice"
Coburn amendment fails, 42-54; first cloture vote fails, 33-63
By Michelle Malkin · June 07, 2007 09:48 AM

The Coburn amendment 1311 to require full enforcement of existing immigration laws fails, 42-54. If you are calling Senate offices, you might want to concentrate on these ones:

GOP Sens voting NAY on the Coburn amendment - that is, voting against full enforcement of existing immigration laws: LUGAR, KYL, CRAIG, VOINOVICH, COLLINS, MURKOWSKI, BROWNBACK, HAGEL, STEVENS, DOMENICI, WARNER, SPECTER

Did anyone think to ask these stalwart Americans why they voted "...against full enforcement of existing immigration laws"?

Didn't they take an Oath to protect and defend the Constitution and the laws of the United States?

Sounds like wholesale perjury to me!

Have you seen the DEA's most wanted fugitives list?

Click on any state - it puts the FBI's list to shame!

If it ever passes, the "Z-visa" will be the greatest boon to
criminal aliens in history.

All they will need to do is pluck names out of a Mexican phone
book, and "pass" the instant 24 hour background check.

Killers and other criminals will have no problem obtaining fistfuls
of 100% valid "breeder documents" for obtaining drivers license,
credit cards, etc.

Your post just needed repeated with bold emphasis.

I'm still dumbfounded that Dubya would support the Criminal Alien
Protection and Importation Act (aka "comprehensive immigration reform"
act) of 2007.

The last few weeks almost leads me at least consider the concept
of demonic possession having some US politicians in its' grip.
Even if it's in the form of "compassion" for criminal illegal
aliens with the ugly fig leaf of "it's a sensible way of dealing
with our illegal immigration situation".

And part of the "beauty" of the bill is that, until Cornyn proposed an amendment otherwise, law enforcement couldn't use any of the info obtained in the application process to apprehend criminal aliens.

Kennedy came close to stroking out on the Senate floor when the amendment (which passed) came up for a vote, and the NY Times is blaming Cornyn today for "want(ing) to strip confidentiality protections for immigrants who apply for legal status, making them too frightened to leave the shadows.

Aargh, no! Republicans are frightening felons! Off with the nativists' heads! (end facsimile NYT rant).

I have heard 75% of inmates in California prisons are illegal aliens.

The cursory 24 hour background check really troubles me. Who are we checking this “background” with? The governments of countries south of the border? They will have such information? They can reply within 24 hours? The information will be accurate? I think the answer to all questions is a resounding NO. I cannot even get a 24 hour answer from an insurance company in this country with all the high tech communications. Someone is putting a very high standard on a very low-tech government(s).

The OBL traitors know all of this. The 24 hour "background check" (sic) is just meaningless eyewash, meant only to gull the morons.

“Serrano was an illegal immigrant in the United States who reportedly used false Social Security and Alien Registration cards. Serrano may be with his girlfriend, Diana Mendoza, who is not a fugitive from the law.”

I counted 31 Mexicans, 5 OTMs (Other Than Mexican). For most of them, it does not say whether they had legal or illegal immigration status when they committed murder.

If only 14 (a guess — could be more) of them were illegal, then that’s 20% of the most wanted. Illegals are something like 7% of the total population, so if my guess were correct (who knows), illegals would be represented in the Most Wanted at 3X their % of the total population.

Another disturbing thought is that the new amnesty would make Mexicans (40% of Most Wanted for murder in the current list) a much higher % of the total alien population.

Plus our government does not have any way of knowing what crimes, or even terrorist acts, our new, instantly legalized, resident, may have committed outside this country.

Now you know that can't be true, after all, they are just good people coming to America to earn a living and to do the jobs Americans won't do...

I know this for a fact because John McCain told me so.

Illegal aliens - 2-6% of the population Most wanted - 50%

I'll bet when history is written about this era, the correct figure will be closer to 10% or 30 million illegal alien invaders.

Travis, how do you know how many in the list are illegal aliens? I saw one that said "illegal alien" but for most it didn't say.
