The main compliment of riders will be veterans of all branches of our military who are fed up with the way the Marine Corps and the political community are treating the Marines, mainly the men of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, the Thundering Third.
These Marines fought in Haditha and returned home the champions that they are, only to find themselves indicted on charges from murder to cover-up.
These charges have stemmed from an incorrect article in Time magazine, as well as some politicians who seem to have jumped to conclusions without stopping to get facts.
The facts were brought forth by men, such as a Bronze Star winning Intelligence Officer who viewed the whole incident by unmanned camera aircraft and accumulated log books and reams of data that exonerates all the Marines of K/3/1. This evidence seems to be pushed aside by the politically motivated opportunists.
The question now arises for the parents and family of military individuals on deployment in Iraq...
That is politically incorrect!
The veterans of the past and family of current military are not going to stand for it.
On Saturday morning, June 23, 2007 at 8AM veterans from the Northwest will meet at the South Center Mall in Tukwila, Washington, and prepare to depart at 9AM for destination Main Gate, Camp Pendleton.
We plan to arrive sometime Thursday, June 28th.
We dont intend to block traffic of cause any discomfort whatsoever to other Americans. We fought for their rights, too and we intend to make their day, not wreck their day.
At this late date it is realized that some who would want to go, but cant, may want to ride a short distance to show theyre support. Our colors will be Old Glory, the Stars and Strips will fly from the back of each motorcycle.
Some of the riding veterans will carry a container for donations to be given to the Defense Fund upon arrival at Camp Pendleton.
This ride is open to every American who wants to support our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those who dont have motorcycles or cant ride will want to go to the overpasses near their homes and wave flags as the motorcycles travel down Interstate 5.
Normal regrouping locations will be the numerous Rest Stops along the way. We will ride daylight hours only, because our intentions are visibility to American Citizens, so that we may all show support together.
Veterans and military family members from other parts of the country who want to participate may want to meet the ride at some location on Interstate 5 that is more convenient to their location. This ride is spontaneous and is designed to meet every Americans desire to show support to our military heroes.
We want No Man Left Behind.
This thread will be updated with itinerary and progress reports so you can join the ride as it passes through your community or just give them your support!

I’m dawdling.
Lily is the best!
I showed you I am too lazy to go to the post office and get 2 cent stamps.
Did I tell you I took it from dude’s pistol fund? LOL
Freepers are the best.
I thought you needed two stamps because you were sending it in bullion.
What the stuff you make gravy with? :)
Exactly.
Hey, Girl had an idea! We could put on a fundraising thread called something like “Stump the Goober” (starring me as the Goob).
Agreed. I think we all feel that way about these guys, Unc.
Now we’re talking! We could raise some money for the Haditha Marines with a “Stump the Goober” challenge. Goodness knows he’s shown himself to dumber than a box of rocks after today (and not very good under pressure) :-) Just kidding.
Freema, lily, pink, jaz, any ideas while we’re waiting for Don’s update?
Great post, great updates! Thanks for doing this, Red! Also, many, many thanks to the Dinsmore’s for their undying support of our Haditha marines!
Bump
Thank you, thank you for your donation! It is greatly appreciated. You’d be interested to know that SSgt. Wuterich is a “garlic” gourmet. The more garlic, the better! What a coincidence you used that question for your trivia! Bless you!
The thanks goes to you and your family for raising a Marine and getting him through this mess. We hope to raise more Haditha Marine funds soon!
We could call it, “Are You Smarter Than a Goober?”.
The riders have a tough haul ahead of them, nearly 400 miles...
I passed jaz's advice to Don to limit the riding to morning and evening. For updates on the rally itself this Thursday, June 28th, see this thread: "I'm not here to give Capt. Dinsmore moral support, Sir, I'm here to watch his back..."
That picture of Red facing down his dinner on the sidewalk was priceless...:~)
I have another idea, and while not as creative as lily's or even unique, would be a fun way to help these Marine's with their legal fees.
Why not "sponsor" one or more of our accused Marines, just like they do at marathons and such.
We could base our pledges on a number of things, such as the miles in a given leg, the full trip down, up, or round trip, how many riders overall participating, etc.
The mileage numbers could be based on Don Dinsmore's odometer, and I bet he could be persuaded to get any other criteria needed, such as number of riders or miles in a given leg.
Even a nickle or dime a mile could be substantial given the length of the ride, but it'd take an awful lot of us to make a dent in the families' legal bills.
I'll start it off by pledging 5 cents a mile, for every mile put on Don Dinsmore's odometer during the extent of the run for each of the three that still have murder charges pending - Wuterich, Sharratt, & Tatum.
Hi everyone, this is Don’s wife. Just wanted to let you know that I just talked with him and he has just under 900 miles added to his odometer for this trip so far.
