The Statists thought the tactics worked so well, that they tried to echo them, including attempts to silence dissent with the amnesty bill. They failed.

While the amnesty bill fight was raging, the GW onslaught became unusually quieted. Probably trying to wage simultaneous big lie campaigns was too much BS even for establishment media to float all at once.

Possibly the betrayal of Scooter Libby coincided too closely to the attempted betrayal of American citizens.
