Isaiah Washington has lost his job on the hit ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," five months after creating a furor with his use of an anti-gay slur.
Washington's contract option was not renewed for next season, series producer ABC Television Studios said Thursday.
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore," Washington said in a statement released through his publicist, Howard Bragman, without elaboration.
He drew fire after using the anti-gay epithet backstage at the Golden Globe Awards in January while denying he'd used it previously on the set against cast mate T.R. Knight.
Gay rights groups and cast member Katherine Heigl, who publicly denounced Washington, were among his most vocal critics.
"This is something that will have changed the scope of his life," Heigl told Entertainment Weekly last month. Washington was "sorry and embarrassed" for the mistake, she said.
Washington tried to make amends and said he was seeking therapy.
He also met with officials from the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and filmed a public service announcement in which he said "words have power" to hurt or heal.

Don’t know whether the “mad as hell” quote indicates anything about his future actions, but Mr. Washington has learned that no amount of grovelling and supplication will appease the masters of political correctness. He showed he had an impure heart and a politically correct mind, and he must be banished to the outer reaches of the solar system.
Maybe Al and Jesse can file a lawsuit on his behalf, he is a historically underprivileged Black, after all.
It was a good 44 year run.

Washington obviously knew Hollywood’s ‘gay mafia’ runs the entertainment industry, and specifically this show.
That said, when the season finale was over I told my wife ‘Take a good look, cause you won’t see him again due to the faggot comment...’

ooops, that should read a “politically INcorrect mind”..... of course, now that he has been through leftist re-education for a few months he may have learned to be politically correct (or at least pretend so).......but now that he lost his job anyway, it may liberate him to REALLY speak his mind, unless he actually wants to work in TV and Hollyweird ever again...... maybe he will describe the process of intimidation and “re-education” he experienced as a result of his remark. He could write a tell-all memoir now.....

I’ve never seen the program, but I’d guess that the only watchable thing about it is Katherine Heigl.
I watched a couple of episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” simply because a friend likes the show and roped me in just long enough for me to shake my head in amazement that it could even be a “hit show”...... I was bored to tears. The characters are insipid, the plot is dull, and the cast should be banished from the airwaves..... ALL of them!

To save his career, he needs to “come out” as gay in about six months and blame his “homophobia” on his self-hatred.
Maybe a book and a tearful confession.
