Despite Thursday night's Senate vote shelving a controversial immigration reform bill, the legislation can survive, Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar said this morning
"No, it's not dead. Defeat is not an option," Salazar, D-Denver, told CNN on the morning...

‘Eees not dead, ‘ees just pinin’.
I think we need a competing bill to help kill it for good. Something along the lines of enforcing the border, building that fence, stepping up enforcement against employers with maybe a guest worker provision. Then promise to revisit the "what to do about those already here" stuff after two years.
This would allow the critters to say they are addressing the problem, etc..
It’s not dead? Well I guess we need to kill it some more then
Don’t kid yourself. This creature won’t be dead till this session of congress is over. The WH and the “Amnesta’s” will work feverishly to get this thing passed.
KEEP UP THE PRESSURE!
TURN THE ENEMIES WEAPON AGAINST HIM
Call the Senate Immigration Reform Hotline at 1 800 417 7666 Press 1 for your senior senator, 2 for your junior senator.
This will connect you DIRECTLY to your senator without going through the congressional switchboard.
JAM THE LINES. LET THEM HEAR OUR ANGER AND FURY.
How did he get elected? I believe that if you check the telephone books for last names, you will see how this happened. Between that and the democrats living there....
And never forget, this is the place that send Pat Schroeder to congress for many years. Remember the navy guys on the ship with the banner?
Defeat is not an option for the democrats, unless of course we are talking about Iraq.
I agree! What does it take? A silver bullet, wooden stake through the heart, WHAT?

I think we need some kind of bill too. But not this one. We need the widsom of Solomon to figure out the kind of bill we need, but need one we do.
Geez, I hope so. But Colorado has really turned Democrat. In their short tenure they've: drastically reduced legal document requirements for driver's licenses (once among the strictest in the nation); illegally raised property taxes, against the voter approvedTABOR amendment, which requires all tax increases to be voted on by the people; done their very best to shut down the burgeoning natural gas industry by loading them up with ridiculous regulations, and more which I'm too depressed to list.
Our county, which still has a 3 to 1 ratio of Republicans to Democrats, has a Democratic representative.
Sigh.
Absolutely, and the eventual bill that DOES emerge is still going to make alot of people unhappy. It is the root canal we need.
I don't think any comprehensive bill will work. We need to take baby steps. Enforcement first, address business needs second, streamline legal immigration third, etc..
I volunteer teaching ESL to immigrants and most of my students are illegals. They’re wonderful people and I see how hard they work. But I’m very concerned about their shadow culture, both for themselves and are for the rest of us. I’m still not sure how to proceed legalizing folks who came here illegally.
Resurrect the dead bill now!- Ken Salazar D-Mexico
Didn’t Coors sabotage his own campaign for CO Senator...something about Gay Marriage??
“I agree its not dead. The backers of this bill will not give up, and neither should we. Well fight them tooth and nail on this. On that they can be certain.”
Let’s call them today and pummel them some more. Call it pre-emption.
Get used to it, Senator Salazar...
Prince of Space combined with Invasion of the Neptune Men is/are my favorite.
Well he certainly is showing that he is a different kind of Democrat.
He not only is a left winger but is trying to destroy our country.
Shame on the people of Colorado for being sucked in to vote for this turkey.
So much multicultural politics, aye there hoser.
I had to go look, and I agree. Except for the beetle part.
