Where is this bill?

They passed it last year, so no need for a new law, it's old history right? It was titled the Secure Fence Act of 2006, had all the provisions of the AMNESTY bill, only more.

Nothing stops anyone from dusting off the forgotten 1986 AMNESTY Act and enforcing those "old laws". See a trend here? The operative word here is not can we enforce the border, it's WILL we enforce the border.

Wonder what Lindsay Graham was threatened with when he was one of the 13 Senators who fought to get Clinton impeached? That must have been one hell of a FBI file or whattever for him to turn so completely.

It's with pride that I can say I have two senators serving me: Jeff Sessions & Richard Shelby.

Elections are important.

You ain’t kidding. I can’t believe the good people of SC can’t scrape up anyone, a bum, to run against Lindsey. Hell, vote for his Democratic challenger then, just to make an example to other RINO’s.

Who were the guys 'hanging-out' with Condit?

“Arizona Sen. John McCain and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham among conservative Republicans.”

Since when did these two become conservative Republicans?

That beats me.

I have two senators working actively to destroy this nation:

Schumer and Clinton.

"...McCain and Graham are out of touch with the people of South Carolina."

Not just that. They're out of touch with reality!

And not just them! It's Saxby Chambliss, Johnny Isakson, the rest of these jerks--and especially George Bush! It is high time to question their judgment!

Seeking guidance from Teddy Kennedy--of all people??? If they're willing to risk only their own necks by deferring to that klunk that's their business--but the United States!?!! The American people!?!! The future of our children!?!!

Saxby Chambliss' famous words are going to come back to haunt him.

If state Republican officials can not or will not find a replacement for Lindsey Graham, Saxby Chambliss, and Johnny Isakson, it will be time to abandon the Republican Party. I can’t suggest an alternative right now—certainly not the Anti-American Party of Decadence and Karl Marx (i.e. the Democrat Party)! But if the Republicans are accepting the de facto leadership of the likes of Teddy Kennedy—what’s the difference?

They had bloody wellbetter find somebody other than Graham to run next time or they will lose and lose big time. He needs his arse kicked NOW and not after he loses an election and just drifts away. He needs to be made an example of as does McCain. NOW.

"John McCain has always prided himself as a man who marches to the beat of a different drummer," Mr. Tancredo told The Times yesterday. "How depressing to learn that the drummer is Ted Kennedy."

McCain is finished now. He will never be President, except in his dreams.

My only concern about our (conservatives) opposition to this has been this: there's a lot of "No Amnesty" and not enough "Close the borders"

It's not enough to scream what we don't want, we need to let the bastards in DC know what it is we DO want...fortunately it's easily condensed: CLOSE THE BORDERS NOW

I hate to extend such an unpleasant metaphor, but, when you think about it, the Bush’s have always found it easy to slip in and out of bed, figuratively speaking of course, with some very unsavory characters, including Democrat politicians.

And he sent you a request for a donation? He just effectively spit in your face, and probably in the faces of many other conservative Republicans. Thank you, Mr. President, for elevating this POS above his station. Anything above bellhop would be above Martinez’s station. He and Gonzales both have that gormless look about them, and evidently the gormlessness is right to the bone in both of them. Thanks again, Mr. President!

It seems to me that the time is right for someone bright, intelligent, and of sound judgment to present himself or herself to the South Carolina Republican Party as a viable alternative to Lindsey. Surely the State Republican hierarchy is aware of the enormous liability he now is to them.

This action of amnesty seems to warrant a strong change from tradition, and a attempt to unseat him.

Not doing so will alienate the party further from the grassroots.

Mr. Kennedy's immigration bill -- which was blocked by a Senate filibuster last night

Unless they have changed the meaning, it was not a filibuster. It was assaulted by procedural maneuvering -- attempting to attach a large number of amendments.

it was reported that Mr. Graham and Mr. McCain had first checked with Mr. Kennedy before deciding to vote with the Massachusetts Democrat on an amendment to the Senate bill.

Apparently other R senators sought out Kennedy for marching orders.

This thread surfaced last evening:

JOHN AND KEN ONLINE John and Ken just said that a source on the scene in D.C. told them that before Lindsey Graham and Jon Kyl cast their latest vote, they checked with Ted Kennedy. Listen and comment on the show.
