Major Garrett has sources on both sides of the aisle telling him we can write the bill's obituary. Roll call going on now.
I agree Mexico has a long history of making raids across the border when we are at war.
Poncho Via...
Article IV
Section 4
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion...”
I hope you are right (and I wrong). But I’ll put my money on me rather than you.
1980 was a President, not a party.
As far as 2002, I thought that the pundits pontificating on permanent minority status for the Dems were full of it then. And the reason I did was I fully expected the Republicans to do what they have done. Crap on those that brought victories in 00 and 02. And, incidentally, kept the party alive during the dark years.
Even a dynamic candidate (not looking good there) and a victory in 08 (who knows?), will not change the party apparatus and leadership anymore than it changed when Reagan was in office. IMO, they tolerated Reagan because they had to, but never embraced conservatism. Both Bush Presidencies have demonstrated that.
And Florida’s changing demographics do not bode well for the GOP going Pubbie in national elections much longer.
Ah well, we will see, won’t we? Bush will continue shiating on us in his quest for integrating Mexico into the US. Does anyone seriously believe he will now start enforcing the law and guarding the border? I don’t.
One great thing to come out of this is the Quisling Republican soundbites.
Anybody who wants to run against Lindsey, McCain or Lott in the primaries has the best ammo ever: our traitors slobbering all over Teddy Kennedy.
Run those clips with quotes about permanenent Z-visas for felons, and those traitors are toast.
Damn fine day ........:o)
He spoke about the poor little Mexican Invaders and how the opponents of this bill want to “break up families.” It was so touching it brought a tear to my eye... NOT!
Dual citizenship should be prohibited.
Kill the bill and never forget the names of the traitors who supported it. NEVER.
What? Isn’t there anything La Raza or the Ford Foundation can do to revive it?
Good points.....I saw earlier that this was dead yesterday (?) but Lott made a deal with the swimmer........doom on these RINO POS’s........
Yes, it would be refreshing. Senator Sessions is giving the traitors a good spanking right now.
Get off it. Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan all cast wrong votes or did stupid things once in a while.
What is most alarming, is these people are supposed to be our representatives.
It's imperative, come reelection, their statements must be brought into the open, and thrown back into their faces.
I hope they all get strong primary challengers. They sure provided some strong ammo with those Kennedy-kissing soundbites. That won’t play well in Dixie.
Thankfully, neither will his pro life position (guess all the border only people forgot about those positions/ex orders) or his judges, or his tax cuts, or his prosecution of the WoT.
And you could just as easily say that 1980 (where we did get a Senate win a few years later) just laid the groundwork for the 1994 House takeover.
As for "fully expecting," blah, blah, that's just "I-told-you-so" covering your butt pessimism. You can never be wrong, so there will never be any evidence that will convince you.
Yeah....I guess you could Larry. In fact you already have when you accuse the right honorable Marse Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Bragg (ya'll could kept him), Both Johnstons of "RENEGING ON THEIR OATH TO PROTECT THE UNITED STATES FROM "ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC" in your book "A Patriots History of the United States on page 310.
He didn’t have a lot of maneuvering room. All our Senate are belong to them.
