Yeah. Hunter’s going nowhere in a hurry. Sad, very sad.

Bump!

I doubt we'll ever hear a direct response or even a generic one that isn't a put-down...

Hunter is a “big government conservative.”

Big National Defense conservative. Do not confuse the two. He has time and again sponsored legislation that would annually slash 25,000 federal employees from the bureaucracy's civilian sector.

Problem is, is that Hunter is splitting the border security vote with Tancredo.

I have a suggestion for Tom Tancredo that is amazingly simple. Start campaigning for Duncan.

That would show a streak of selflessness, putting the good of the American people above personal ambition, that is rare nowadays. Allow the pro-border-defense and "Enforce the law" vote to coalesce around a true stalwart.

Duncan, on the other hand, can't fold his tent without leaving a void on all the myriads of national security issues that do not have a knowledgeablve voice.

Donald Rumsfeld was often confounded at how much more and detailed was Duncan Hunter's knowledge of defense issues than his own...
