Bernie Sanders American Patriot He's also a registered Socialist and resident blind squirrel in the Senate. Looks like he found a nut this time.

Remind me tomorrow and we’ll link to it in the Congressional Record.

Patriot?
The man is an out and out open socialist and admitted marxist.
On this immigration bill, he is right that its a bad bill, no doubt about that, he isn't an idiot.
But patriot he is not.

I guess he’s a Stalinist (Socialism in one country) as opposed to being a Trotskyite (Internationalist).

Don’t for a second give the Dem’s credit for opposing this bill.. it was their bill from the start.. this is all a strategy to split our side (by now opposing it.. ) I would go so far to bet this was a trap and they predicted that they could get some R’s behind it along with the President, get everyone up in arms, then ‘pull out’ like heroes, leaving the RINOS high and dry..

Yuck...calling him an American patriot made me throw up in my mouth! As everyone has pointed out, he's a commie. He got this one right, but through backward logic (slamming evil corporations).
Anyway...I have to go brush my teeth...
To: gas0linealley
He was critical of the bill and pointed out the damage that has been done to America by the business interests which are pushing for the bill, As a card-carrying Socialist, Senator Sanders is automatically against anything that any business might do -- whether it's illegal...or legal.
In this one instance, Bernie's innate socialism aligns him with the side of right -- but this is definitely an object example of the "a busted clock is still right twice a day" rule.

Bernie Sanders American Patriot Huh? While the Senator is right on this issue, he is wrong on so many others.
Are you sure you aren't a sleeper troll? Just asking, because nobody here would actually use the words "Bernie Sanders American Patriot" in the same phrase without a "is not an" between Sanders and American.

Don’t give Bernie too much praise, his screed was purely anti-business. As long as “the man” won’t financially benefit from amnesty, he’d be all for it.

Gee what happens when you mix nationalism and socialism?
Did you know that the word Nazi is an abbreviation for “National Socialist” in German?
I agree with these specific comments on illegal immigration but don’t underestimate for a minute how dangerous this man’s ideology is for everything good in this world.
To: gas0linealley
I’m sick of all the amendments. I know that they are being used more for delaying tactics than anything, but I wish more Senators would just come out and say the whole thing is screwed and it needs to be thrown out completely.

I have to disagree; that amendment sounds every bit as terrible as this legislation.
Bernie Sanders has two goals: 1, to regulate American businesses out of business; 2, to replace the void they once filled with government.
Obviously, this “immigration” bill is a bad one because illegal aliens should be treated as such. But the fact is, sometimes (legal) foreign workers in, say, Silicon Valley, serve a useful role. It sounds as though Sanders recognizes this role and wants to remove it, with the aim of accomplishing goal no. 1 so as to pave the way for goal no. 2.

A look at Socialist Bernie's past record will dispel any notions of him being an 'American patriot'.
He's right on this issue, but wrong on a host of others.

I’d wager every nickel I have that any opposition that Comrade Bernie might have to this bill is based on its racist requirements that illegals must pay *any* back taxes and present any hard and fast *proof* that they’ve been here for “X” number of months/years.
