Crazy idea, but why don’t we just enforce laws already in place instead of enacting new cobbled up atrocities like this “immigration bill”?

Your idea is not crazy. It’s because as before, enforcement is the last thing that will be done. In fact, there will be waivers on all kinds of enforcement related issues later.
And in the meantime the borders will remain open to increase business profits at the expense of every taxpaying community in America.
It’s called a sham.
