How so? All I see backpedaling on is about the attack on us for not being real Americans. Yet we are the ones asking for the laws to be upheld. Ironic.

Please explain why you feel this is the case. In fact if this dies this afternoon, the word from Senate staff is they will bring it back. They want to ram this down our throats THAT BADLY. And you are telling me that El Jefe Jorge will not sign this if it showed up on his desk in July/August?

There was a story in the news this week stating that Jorge was shocked at the response that he received after the speech. That indicates to me just how out of touch he really is with the base. The story was posted here and did not get lots of attention, but I do believe he is blinded, maybe be choice, to the reality of today’s America. He is so focused on Iraq, that he focus on America has completely dried up. Don’t be surprised to see Jorge, and many of the Republican Congress members to suddenly come out with statements saying how the misjudged the will of the people — a bit of CYA is in order, or at least that will be how it plays out.
