DRUDGE - REPORTS: IMMIGRATION BILL ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE IN SENATE... DEVELOPING...
DRUDGE ^ | DRUDGE (or Breitbart)

That is the headline on Drudge and all he has for now. Since Matt is undoubtedly in bed on the East Coast, we can probably thank Andrew Breitbart.

The immigration bill is on the brink of collapse in the Senate. Let's hope for some more developments soon.

A Real Immigration Reform Plan

1. Secure the Borders
a. Install 750 miles of fence within 180 days. Priority funding.
b. Hire, train, and deploy 5,000 new border agents ASAP, with extreme urgency. Priority funding.
c. Use military surveillance hardware/personnel to monitor unfenced gaps. Priority funding.

2. Deport Illegal Aliens
a. Priority 1 - Any illegal alien who has committed a non-violent crime and is currently incarcerated is to be immediately deported and permanently banned from entry into the US.
b. Priority 2 – Any illegal alien who is arrested/detained/discovered during the course of normal police activities is to be finger-printed, deported and permanently banned from entry into the US.
c. Priority 3 – Any illegal alien who is discovered through active ICE investigation processes is to be finger-printed, deported and permanently banned.

3. Positive Identification/Punish Employers of Illegal Aliens
a. Institute a National Visa Database (NVD). Data entered by ICE, accessed via web by all potential employers.
b. Require all persons entering the US for the purpose of working to submit to fingerprinting and photograph. This person is issued a uniquely numbered ID card issued from the NVD with photograph.
c. Require ALL employers to provide proof of legal status for all employees. $100,000 fine per illegal alien employed.

I like the article except the guest worker program part. They always disappear after they get here to work. Then instead of trying to find the missing workers, we just import more.

Please......if your senator(s) are on the right side of this call their office and give them a big THANK YOU! It is important to reinforce their position. They need the positive feed back. So Call, Write, Fax, whatever but tell them Thank You!

I have to disagree with you on Sessions.

He is literally the *only* Senator to go point-by-point through the Shamnesty Bill to unveil its flaws and deceptions.

Yesterday he was literally laughing when talking about the "fine" which makes the bill "not an amnesty".

For the first time I've heard anywhere, he explained that the $5,000 "fine" (of which only $1,000 is due upon Z visa application, and the remainder 8 years later upon permanent residence application), is actually on the installment plan.

Sessions was chuckling as he noted that the fine is actually a $200 payment due on Z visa application, and that most Z visa holders would then be instantly eligible for the $2,000 Earned Income Tax Credit. "Pay $200 to get a $2,000 tax refund? I wish I could get that deal."

I wish Sessions was my Senator, rather than RINO Warner.

Boycott Tyson Foods’ products folks. They are for this illegal shamnesty. Hitting them in their pockets might convince them quicker than sending them a bunch of emails/faxes/etc.

"Sessions was fired up at the end. Those dam ‘Masters of the Universe’."

Sessions is my senator and one of the few (Shelby too) I'd want to see re-elected.

Time to clean out the ROYALIST swamp called the senate.

Last night’s 49-48 vote to provide a sunset for the guest worker program is a sure sign the pro-illegal alien forces are in trouble.

Remember a “sunset” clause is what the democrats used to get the assault weapons ban into law with the ASSUMPTION they could just renew it forever.

This sunset is a BS argument which only demonstrates the point is to provide amnesty for 100% of current illegal aliens.

ARLEN SPECTERE has said this morning he will seek to reverse this deal breaker because it essentially eliminates the (money) support from business interests.

If they were serious, they would have eliminated the amnesty provisions and made illegals INELIGIBLE for the guest worker programs. A token fine does not make it less an amnesty, it only makes it a increased fine.

It just means they get to pay money to get ahead of current applicants.

Keep calling, keep faxing, keep writing.

Call me naive, but I never saw anything this nightmarish coming from our own Senators. I guess I didn't pay enough attention to this problem.

Any Democrats who might be convinced to join a fillibuster?

Great. Now, I want to see the introduction of an Immigrant Deportation Bill.

Spend some of MY money doing that instead of supporting the invaders!!!

Yeah, good guy.

He put this out a few days ago and it has been posted here. Worth a look if you have not seen it.

POUR IT ON!!!!!!!

TURN THE ENEMIES WEAPON AGAINST HIM

Call the “Senate Immigration Reform Hotline” at 1 800 417 7666
Press 1 for your senior senator, 2 for your junior senator.

This will connect you DIRECTLY to your senator without going through the congressional switchboard.

JAM THE LINES. LET THEM HEAR OUR ANGER AND FURY.

I’m confused about Bill O’Reilly. When this immigration bill was first announced, he lamely supported it by saying it was the best bill we could get at this time. However, when I watched O’Reilly last night, he seemed to be dead set against this bill. When did Bill change his mind about this immigration bill?

You're right on. When this bill goes down, we need a legislative response.

Time to start drafting the enforcement bill now.

Then again, why bother, El Presidente would just veto it.

It takes 41 to vote down cloture but not 40 to filibuster. A filibuster needs just enough courage to keep someone at the lectern 24/7, to keep it from being put to vote. Senator Robert Byrd is legendary for his ramblings while stalling legislation he stood against. With C-SPAN, perhaps Senator Sessions, Senator DeMint and a few others could rotate and read the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and McGuffey’s Reader...and actually educate some people.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO.
