An amendment by Sen. John Cornyn ? to bar gang members, sex offenders, terrorists, and alien absconders from receiving amensty was defeated 46-51.

A reminder what absolute Whores of Satan reside inside the beltway. There is no common sense reason to reject Cornyn's amendment, if this is true.

Is there a place where we can find out who voted for what amendments today, well it was yesterday now? So we can make appropriate phone calls to redress and/or compliment our congress-critters.

You and I both know that doing the right thing is always 10x harder for those without the integrity to do the right thing - especially when the easy way to do things is immediately gratifying even if disasterous down the road.

All this makes me realize that the pols on the federal level are all corrupt - some more easily purchased than others. Sheesh!

After what we witnessed on 911, who would have ever imagined that?

How easy would it be for financed terrorist group to sail a ship to Mexico, load up all kinds of weapons, bio weapons, material for dirty bombs, whatever, bribe some corrupt Mexican official if need be. Drive the truck into the states with all the other thousands of other trucks entering, many already loaded with tons of dope and human cargo.

This could have already occurred. Many times actually. These fanatics could be just waiting for the go ahead for all we know.

Spirits among conservative critics of the immigration bill have brightened today following several Senate votes that indicate at least 40 senators could block the bill during a cloture vote tomorrow.

Here's a morbid thought:

Is it really 40 Senators block it, or 60 Senators vote to pass it? Remember, Sen. Thomas died the other day, and Sen. Johnson is still not voting, so that leaves only 98 votes to be had, making it harder to get 60 affirmative votes to end debate (not 40 negative votes to prolong debate).

Is cloture based on the number of seats or the number of Senators? If Sen. Johnson were to retire tomorrow, would that mean that with 98 Senators in Congress, cloture would only needs 59 votes to pass?
