Sleepless in Seattle Director Nora Ephron Shamefully Mocks Foiled JFK Terror Plot
Posted by Noel Sheppard on June 6, 2007 - 10:04.The reader is warned to proceed with caution, for the piece of
"journalism" to be addressed here is truly one of the most vile and disgraceful examples of Bush Derangement Syndrome Ive seen.
In fact, it is so much so that I will not copy one single sentence of this detritus beyond the headline which appeared at the Huffington Post early Monday morning, and is still prominently featured there 58 hours later, which tells us a lot about the proprietor and her readership.
With How to Foil a Terrorist Plot in Seven Simple Steps, screenwriter and director Nora Ephron has despicably disgraced all Americans working for various federal agencies as they risk their lives trying to protect this nation from another terrorist attack.
In reality, America-haters like Ephron were the first to point accusatory fingers of blame at the President for not connecting the dots before 9/11, yet gleefully and proudly mock every foiled subsequent attack as the nation quickly approaches the six anniversary of that solemn event having not lost one additional soul on our mainland as a result of terrorism since.
Alas, Bush Derangement Syndrome prevents folks like Ephron from understanding such logic.
Of course, why should that be a surprise? After all, Ephron also believes that Rosie ODonnell is a poet and The View is must-see TV.

Another Hollyweird Leftist goes on a hysterical anti-Bush / Anti-American rant; no news here.
I thought it's amusing because this is the same crowd (speaking of the HuffPo gluesniffers here) that will become apoplectic and breathtakingly shrill if one is to ever dare to question their patriotism.
Does this appear to a group of proud American Patriots to you?
I didn't think so.

These Hollywood jerks must be boycotted. I haven’t been to a Hollywood movie in over ten years, nor have I rented one.
Enough is enough.

It is a simple thing to stand on the sidelines and criticize. People who just snipe away like this are idiots. And when the next “tragedy” occurs, they will be running around shouting about how we were too lax.

They go Ga Ga over the Millennium Plot as if Clinton foiled it himself, instead of one Border Agent who racially profiled a Muslim.

Wow....who would have thought the director of Sleepless in Seattle was a jackass?LMAO
Long ago I was forced to sit through that movie with a then-galfriend and found it to be the standard, generic, meaningless and ultimately forgettable Hollywood fare, and I remember wondering why it had gotten the deluge of positive press that it had, given it's vacuousness.
Being a Seattleite (unfortunately) I've seen the tangible effects of this movie up close. The houseboats that featured so prominently in the film have gone from being primarily the dwellings of artists and hippies to multimillion-dollar properties nearly overnight..

Nora Ephron graduated from Wellesley College in 1962. I wonder if this college was a haven for leftist professors at that time?

In my book, that’s a pretty crappy filmography she’s built for herself. She also wrote My Blue Heaven, which was a real low point for Steve Martin. “I’m with you. I’m WITH you.” Ugh.

You’ve Got Mail had to be the crappiest remake of a good movie based on a great play that spawned a brilliant musical that I’ve ever seen. She had gold in her hand and turned it into garbage.

A quote from the "trivia" section of her
IMDB bio In a 2005 interview with "Tom Brokaw" Ephron stated that even though then husband "Carl Bernstein" didn't make her privy to the identity of Watergate informant Deep Throat she figured it out from clues (including Bernstein's notes referencing the initials "M. F." allegedly for "my friend") and was willing to tell her guess to anyone who asked. Her guess was proven correct when on May 31, 2005 "W. Mark Felt" , former assistant director of the FBI during the "Richard Nixon" Administration, was identified as Deep Throat

I didn’t know the full pedigree of the movie, but trying to remake a Jimmy Stewart classic was the first mistake. That, and Meg Ryan was really starting to wear thin by the time that came out.

I'm not sure which depresses me more: the actual Ephron essay, or the majority of comments it received on the HuffPo. So many blissful idiots out there, ready to see oppression and hysteria in the other side's views.
Of course, had the JFK plot NOT been foiled, it would have been Bush's fault.
I'm glad she's not a writer/director I like. On that list, I didn't like a single one of her simpering chick flicks. Sleepless in Seatle was a laugh a minute, and not in the way it was intended.
Of course, my idea of a good chick flick is Super Troopers or Dawn of the Dead... but that's besides the point...
