So would I - but I don’t know how that’d fly nationally. Hunter isn’t well known at all, and I’m not sure that he can even deliver the land of nutty fruitcakes (despite the large number of good people there, CA is pretty much beyond hope). OTOH, J.C. Watts (ex-Congressman from OK) would take away the race-baiting tool that the Rats use every election cycle, as would Michael Steele - and both of them are very conservative men with good experience behind them.

But let’s not be premature. Fred still has to kick Rudy McRomney’s arse off the lifeboat.

“I would urge our moderate Arab friends, including our friends, the Saudis who we do have an important relationship with. They’re important to us. We’re important to them. It’s not one sided. We worked with each other for a long time. Hopefully we can work with each other again. But it is no testimonial to friendship to not be honest. And part of what our friends need to remember, it is their country who furnished most of the terrorists on September 11 that did so much damage to us. It was their diplomat to Great Britain who was quoted as praising these suicide bombers and terrorists. It is their country and some of their own people who are raising money or allowing money to be raised in that country that finds its way to terrorists all over the world. It is their people in many instances who are raising money for the families who send these children in to blow themselves up and kill innocent Israelis. And it is their leaders many times in their controlled press who call the United States along with Israeli terrorists. These are the folks we should be worried about, oil or no oil.”

Wow!!! Thanks for posting this speech — Thompson calling out the Saudis!

This is what a serious Republican Candidate does.

Yes. Good for Fred. Mitt has already been there and gave a very well-received speech at the Seventh Annual Herzliya Conference in Israel on January 23, 2007.

Romney was the only candidate who traveled to Israel to attend the conference and speak.

While attending the conference, Romney had private meetings with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, and other Israeli officials.
Details of Mitt in Israel.

I was attacked just few days ago when I said here on FR that Fred Thompson needs to go to Israel.

Care to pick Lotto numbers for me, Elizabetty?? ;)

It's interesting to see how Thompson finds ways to stay in the news, even before his official announcement. He plays the press like a fiddle.

George W.Bush twice spread a load of bullshit in search of Jewish support and campaign funds regarding his heartfelt support of Israel and of moving the U.S.A.embassy, and still has consistently refused to certify such a move, nor has he pressured or even ordered the State Department to cease their open hostility at the East Jerusalem consulate towards American Jews or Israelis requiring consular services.
American Jews born in Jerusalem can not have the words Jerusalem, Israel entered as their place of birth in their American Passports, for fear of annoying the Ragsters.
The U.S.Department of State, and Dr.Condoleeza Rice the SecState maintains the fiction at the behest of the President that Jerusalem is NOT the Capitol of the Jewish state, and allows this foolishness to persist, supporting the premise that Israel is the ONLY nation in the world that is not allowed to name it’s own capitol city.

I disagree that the race-baiting would be taken away. I believe it would actually be greatly increased (think Clarence Thomas). However, I do hope that Fred picks one of them - not because it will increase Fred's chances (it won't), but because it would be the best thing for America in the long run.

Apparently he also let it slip last night on Hannity and Colmbs that he thinks we should stand firm with our allies on the war, which as everyone knows is just code-speak for creating a one-world global order.

My sources tell me there's a waitress from Nashville who claims he only left her a 14.98% tip one time.

Romney meeting with the current group of slimebags(apologies to slimebags everywhere for possibly defaming you by comparison to the israeli leaders)is similar to meeting with the members of a criminal conspiratorial enterprise.

PM Olmert is possible the only politician who is less respected than G.W.Bush. And he has earned that disrespect.

Last I heard he was at a 2% approval rating. I assume nothing has changed much since then. The fact that he won't resign on his own says volumes about his character (or total lack thereof).

Thanks for giving the website; I just donated too. Didn’t know we could already.

I am very impressed by his upcoming trip to Israel.

The Israeli Polls are not geared to show LESS than 2%.
If they were he would register even less than that.
The miserable scumbag will be dragged from office leaving nail marks on his desk.
