The Mexican immigrants I've seen so far make a mockery of the so-called 'melting pot'. They have little interest in assimilating into American culture, and many of the ones I know, some who've been here for eight years or more, still speak no English whatsoever and show no interest at all in getting to know their neighbors.

You can't have a melting pot when the ingredients consist of oil and water.
