I agree that Hunter said the right things while simultaneously doing absolutely nothing to distinguish himself from the crowd. He has no sense of style as a speaker, no sense of how to use rhetoric to his advantage. Completely and utterly forgettable.

It’s too bad, too — he seems like a good, staunch conservative.

Hannity should have asked Fred why he voted to expand NAFTA while a senator? Fred needs to be grilled hard on some of his skeletons.

Paul is to much of a libertarian to be anything in Gov.
Most of all he is to shrill and his reasoning is on par with Rosie O’Donnell

Are you a Tancredo man/woman?

Just a spectator now, making honest observations.

Precisely...great post, jveritas. The “America First” crowd always present a strong argument against foreign involvement, until the mad dogs that they underestimate eventually pull off a big enough strike to convince even the self-absorbed among us that we are facing an existential threat.

the questions are luducrous. Wolf is NOT a very good host for this discussion.
No "objective" journalist could possibly be a useful interlocutor for a Republican debate. For the simple reason that what journalists call "objective" is simply what is in the interests of journalism. And the interests of journalism are exactly counter to those of the constituency of the Republican Party - for the simple reason that Democrats eschew any policy which would not be in the interest of journalism. They do so because "The idea around which liberalism coheres is that NOTHING actually matters except PR."

I don’t think McCain is a front runner anymore. Sorry, but he’s too old, too “Manchurian Canidateish” and too soft on illegal immigration.

Agreed. I don't know anyone who supports him... except for a few Democrats.

Never mistake sloganeering for sound policy. Neo-Cons don’t believe in the law of unintended consequences.

I'm not sure I understand the intent of your post. Are you suggesting that Tancredo saying the Muslims want to kill us because it's a dictate of their religion is "sloganeering"? Are you suggesting that Tom Tancredo is a neo-con?

I Like Mike!

I Like Mike!

I like Mike!

Mike Huckabee has done well in both previous debates and continues to impress tonight as well. He's not having to take any polls to see where he stands!

I thought Duncan Hunter did really well tonight also.

Rudy is the media darling and knows how to use that to his advantage. McCain is SO over with.

Fair is fair... NAFTA, McCain-Feingold and acquiting Clinton on perjury.

Agreed. Either he’s running or he’s not...no way he’s still thinking about it, that’s just laughable. Must be waiting for all the debates to be over, then he’ll announce. Not the kind of person I’d vote for.

Yep, The longer he takes to declare and participate, lessens the chance that I would vote for him.

Um, he was never a Democrat, he was a Libertarian for awhile. This is just the sort of thing that bothers me. The man’s an extremely right-wing Republican on almost every issue EXCEPT for the war. He disagrees with the Dems on everything EXCEPT for the war (and the Dems are only against it because a Republican started it).

I’m inferring that we are letting the Deomcrats define the debate when we sink to using their language.
