Quite interesting. It looks like a driver swap with Shrub taking Jr’s place at DEI; wouldn’t be surprised if it’s also a sponsor swap.
I have NEVER been a Junior fan, I am a Budweiser fan. I loved Dale, Sr. because he was hunting, fishing and country music. Little E is all about cars, girls, and rap/rock music.
I hate Hendrick for political reasons (BIG contributor to Clinton, and when broke laws was pardoned by Clinton)!
If Junior goes to Hendrick, I hope Bud stays at DEI with Shrub.
Maybe we can swap the 5 for the 8???????

My interpretation of the "Roush rule" is that only 4 teams could be under one roof regardless of the now-abandoned 2-teams-per-owner-name rule (that rule is why Mark Martin "owned" the #17 team, and why Georgetta Roush "owns" the #97/26). Of course, since we're talking about Hendrick here instead of Roush, that's open to "interpretation".

Pops was not happy with the “demotion” as crew chief from the 15 team. He had not accepted the position change to the R & D job, but was transferred there anyway. He’s taking the rest of the week off to think about things!!
Jeff has an equity ownership share of HMS, in addition to his partnership with Rick on the 24 and 48. Rick sees Jeff almost like a son, and he said he would like Jeff to take over executive management of HMS when Jeff retires from racing. So I'm certain this happened with Jeff being a big part of the decision-making, even if they deny it for public consumption.
All I can say is welcome to the HMS family, Junior. Just don't take any of Jeff's good cars like what happened when they formed the 48 team. ;-)

Ha ha ha they do have the BPS team for sure. It is hard to continue to see how the Earnhardt family is being treated at DEI. I think Kerry and Jeffrey were hired recently just so they could say but we still have Earnhardt here.
If Pops and TJ walk that’s two less of the relatives.
On Nascar Now they replayed his original press conference with the announcement that he was leaving. He said, all he could do was take the life lessons his daddy taught him....to be a man, race hard, and win championships. He also said he thought his daddy would be proud

He’s very anxious to find out what Junior has to say tomorrow. He hasn’t had time to really talk to him, because he’s been concentrating on driving and that if they could get Junior to HMS, then he’s welcomed there.
Oh I forgot, Shrub should be releasing an announcement either this evening or tomorrow morning. He has to do his first. :)
Same with the Jr merchandise. Are you thinking a switch this year (which would be about the only thing that would scare Flash)?
I really think Jr would not want to let down his team. He always thinks of others first. However, if the OWNER wants to switch now then it will be.
I just personally could not stand to see someone else driving the 8 Budweiser car. The fans will rebel. We’ve been thinking they should switch the sponsor and colors for next year to soften the blow of the 8 without Jr. If they switch this year, you think Shrub gets booed now, just wait. If I were Teresa [of course I wouldn’t be in this position now] but I would not want any more bad publicity for the company. They need to let things settle down.
Darn I just went to Racing USA, I was hoping the Elvis paint scheme car would be on sale. Of course it may not come to pass anyway.......Richmond is a ways off. :)
I have to e-mail Dan at QVC, they are probably croaking right now too. I always send him pics of the show when Jr is on.
Things must be so peaceful when you’re a Matt Kenseth fan. LOL
