But I’m going to respect the conversation I had today with a senior staffer at my state GOP office. “Don’t leave us yet, give it one more try.”

"I really love you baby, and I promise never to hit you again. I swear baby, give me one more chance...."

Battered wife syndrome.

They can cash your check signed or unsigned, doesn’t matter. The VOID stamp means they cannot cash it.

One more try?!!! Man...is that message getting old.

This is the Virginia GOP, not the RNC. They hosted Thompson at a meeting of 450 last week. He got standing O's on his immigration comments.

TURN THE ENEMIES WEAPON AGAINST HIM

Call the “Senate Immigration Reform Hotline” at 1 800 417 7666
Press 1 for your senior senator, 2 for your junior senator.

This will connect you DIRECTLY to your senator without going through the congressional switchboard.

JAM THE LINES. LET THEM HEAR OUR ANGER AND FURY.

All right, already! Gimme' a break!

The Virginia GOP has nothing to do with national RNC, and they have a written policy not to get involved in national isssues. The GOP remains pretty strong here.

Thompson came by to speak before 450 VGOP members last week and got standing ovations on his anti-amnesty comments.

Now if the RNC had asked me to "give it one more chance" I'd have told them I did that about three years ago. The RNC is so bad that it's put the telephone comments line on an answering machine.

Good for them.

Of course I'm an IL GOP'er. Now that's really tough.

That hotline works well. Got right through. They even asked me what the Senator should do. So I did.

Double coverage in case it goes to court. Unsigned and then VOIDED seemed to me to be the best insurance.

I just want to clear things up about my previous comment on Senator Hutchison. I did receive an e-mail today explaining her views on Amnesty. I wonder if she is a Freeper and read the posts here? I have no clue why I got the other snail mail about Iraq.

I will complain when it's due, but also praise when it's due. She may be having problems in her staff or maybe she uses Microsoft Office for her Database stuff. Maybe they have a tap on my line or read my posts to FAR RIGHT WING EXTREEMIST websites like FR, but the e-mail about illegals did arrive. Now if she will just vote to kill this POS, I can worry about other things.

I just told her to build the fence, and we'll worry about the other when we need to. After a 40 year "War on Drugs" with no fence, and now the "War on Terror" with no fence, we don't trust them without a REAL fence before talking about work visa's. It should be 2 separate Bills with triggers for the second. They want triggers in Iraq, I want triggers in Texas. When I don't have to punch "2" for English on my phone, we'll talk.

Wondering if the president has read even one letter/email to him from the Americans he detests — or if he’s just too busy throwing smug little temper tantrums in his elitist, pampered world.

I did receive an e-mail today explaining her views on Amnesty.

How about letting us know which way she leans.

I suspect our porous borders are an indication of a more widespread plan (plot?). That is, the formation of a North American union. No borders. All are one.

Could this be a step towards the ultimate goal of a world government? I'm just wondering.

Maybe it's not so bad that we only have to go to 2 for English, though it irks me big time. Some day we may be punching 5 or 6 to hear our own language.

Last couple of lines of her e-mail:.....

As the bill reaches the Senate floor this week, our goal will be restoring the integrity of our borders, providing guest workers with opportunity, not amnesty, and preserving our social security for all who legally qualify. Our contributions to the debate will continue to be positive, and constructive.

Our country needs immigration reform. We must ensure that it’s done, and done correctly. Sincerely, Kay Bailey Hutchison

She sounds pretty good at first, but leaves open the option of trimming around the edges. This way, she can claim that the Bill was "fixed" and worth voting for, if her arm is twisted, I guess.

My point to her was to "fix" the border fence first, then we can talk about the other stuff till the cows come home. If she's more worried about giving "opportunity" to "guest workers" than tossing illegal aliens, then we are doomed. She usually votes "right", but she just has to word it in a way that makes me nervous.

On Hutchinson, not too much to pin hopes on in those lines.

I suspect you received a "form" email.

With the barrage of phone calls, letters, faxes and emails Senators have gotten, I'd be amazed if they have the brazenness to pass this anti-America bill.

I practically weep when I dream how the GOP could be beating the Democrats to death on immigration and putting a lock on GOP power for the next generation if only they were smart enough to be on the right side of this issue and standing tall with the American people - instead of being in bed with Clinton and Kennedy.

As it is, they are destroying the Republican Party and destroying America at the same time. It makes no sense whatsoever. They are giving the Liberals a two-fer for nothing and paving the way for a complete takeover by the Democrats and illegals in 2008.
