I know we're kind of digressing from the point of the post, but I wouldn't put either an actual beheading or an attempted fraud past an enemy with no honor.

That is complete BS - The MSM have scored their sought after victory over mindset like yours -
Changing the world & bringing the ME out of the dark ages is an incredibly difficult task.....but it is a task we had to undertake....in order to assure our national security in both the short term and long term.
Lets all understand a basic reality, no war goes perfectly and in all our successes of wars past.....until victory was achieved there were easily dozens of reasons to list "where we were failing", or "where we could have done better", etc, etc, etc.
Bottom line is on the whole (in terms of our true success) those reasons were all a bunch of BS......The same holds true today...
On the whole we are clearly winning this WOT. Our enemies have suffered one strategic defeat after another...we have not suffered one....
The one area of this WOT/Iraq we are losing is the PR aspect to this war (your mindset is a testament to this). The RNC/WH have done a terrible job in this aspect of the WOT.
How there is not a WOT supporting 527 up and fully resourced...running a once a week TV ad campaign is beyond me....It is pathetic that the powers that be in the WH/RNC have not made certain of such a WOT supporting 527.
Outside of that, the notion that we are losing (or getting our heads handed to us) is complete and utter BS.
Any war plan that is based on the notion that Americans will tolerate 70-100 dead per month for 5 years or more is a losing war plan. I hope that was not their plan when we invaded.
There needs to be a massive use of deportation in this country, then locking the borders to all who believe in that horrendous ideology of death and destruction and who sing “God is great” whenever they blow up an American.
You are way off the mark if you think that is how war plans are derived for starters....And what, losing over 200,000 in less then 5 years is? (WWII?) -
Those who suggest body-count numbers are a variable for success (if the cause/war is just and right) are of a sick mind.
The MSM love body count numbers (for our side) because they are sick....and they know they can spin those negative without any context whatsoever -
And bud, yes, the reality is no war-gamers would have told you 6 years ago that we'd remove the Gov't of Afghanistan and remove the Saddam regime with less then 4000 KIA combat deaths.....You would have been laughed out of the DoD and Pentagon...
Most gamers were suggesting over 10,000 KIA for accomplishing EACH (behind the scenes).
We are in a world war right now - Great men & women warriors are going to end up paying the highest price one can give to this great nation in this war. For that, they don't deserve pity or weak-kneed civ's back home....They deserve civ's back stateside to cowboy the Fk up and deal with some unpleasant news once in awhile...understanding that on the whole these efforts are making us safer (the world safer).....That on the whole the only true way to be successful in both the short and long term is to change the heart of the ME....

No. I judge whether we’re winning by whether we’ve got the guts to play thru the end game, and it’s very apparent that we don’t. They don’t need to kill 200,000 Americans to win this war. 5,000 will do it.
You may not - But I have no question Our warriors and CinC have more then enough resolve - Body-count numbers are a sick game when not put in any context......
Reality is what we have accomplished to date is historically amazing......Our enemies are suffering losses that they won't recover from (if we have the will to continue)....
And I'm sure you were saying 2000 would do it, then 3000, would do it, then 4000,....now you'll move the goal post again to 5000 .....(that's a sick game).
Why do you want to fight the enemy over here instead of over there?

It obviously doesn’t make a bit of difference what I think. But this war is going to be over one way or another by the next election. If we can’t win it by then, then we can’t win it.
The first photo on his site looks very similar to one I remember seeing a year or two ago. Actually, I thought it was the same one.
Ahh, don't believe the MSM/DEM spin & hype - This WOT was never going to be over within 6 years to begin with - And it will not end once the 08 election is over (that is the dirty little secret the DEMs are trying to hide from their base)
And while I'll agree that it is very UNLIKELY that we'll have a CinC with the resolve of our current one.....The notion that this war won't continue or can't be successful is pure hyperbole negative spin (unless a real LIB gets in office....which I don't believe will happen).
The American public is not against this WOT/Iraq. They simply are not...when properly informed and engaged.
Now without question their resolve has been weakened by the constant 24/7 negative agenda driven MSM spin (because there has not been a systematic and informative counter to that from our side).
Over the next 18 months or so (until the next POTUS) this CinC will continue to take the fight to our enemies. He will continue to weaken them.....which will only help the next POTUS who enters office.
Again, since Sept 11th, 2001 we have removed two brutal and world threatening regimes, we have killed or captured over 3/4 of AQ original leadership and ditto that percentage of their less effective replacements......we have killed tens of thousands of our enemies recruits (which IS taking a toll on them), and we have planted our two biggest allies in this WOT, those being the values of freedom and self-worth. Each of these are slowly taking root in Iraq and Stan (and they will spread)...
But again, changing the world is a difficult task....extremely difficult. There was no easy button to push after Sept 11th.....those who talk as such are foolish....All the monday morning quarterbacking is foolishness on the whole (there are times and places for such.....mostly behind the scenes)....

PS: The Arabic caption on the photo of the murdered soldiers heroes as released by the terrorists read " Bush is the cause for your Prisoners loss". Like the liberals, the terrorists believe it is Bush fault.
So if the attention span of a goldfish is about 3 seconds, how long do you suppose the attention span of a liberal is?
President Bush said that the WOT was going to be a long haul. I would think it unlikely that it’s over in less time than the Cold War. Does anybody out there in the blue elitist states remember how it was to live through the Cold War and how long it endured?
It would seem to me that since we didn’t start the war on terror, the instigators will most likely decide how long it will go on and on and on. Given the present politics of the U.S., that is.
So how can the Congress of the United States just come out of their little paper bags and decide that the war on terror is over? What are they going to say when the string beans hit us again? Ooops?
The FBI says the chatter is on the increase. Congress doesn’t believe them?
