The offer is a reprise of the approach Flynt took in 1998, at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, when he bought a full-page ad in The Washington Post with a similarly worded offer. Flynt later said on CNBC’s “Rivera Live” that he had turned up information showing hypocrisy by a Republican congressman from Georgia, but the project never created the splash some in Washington had expected.
