Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy...
I hope it was a Democrat who had him arrested.
He's been ignoring such orders from civilized society for years.
Couldn’t have happened to a more suitable guy.
Sounds like the New Hampshire we used to know.
Let’s see Media Matters spin THAT!
Never heard of him....seriously!
Ohhhhhhhh, drama.
Nor have I, though this bit from the article tells me all I need to know about him:”Alterman writes a column for The Nation...”
DFU SONG: Cabaret (giving Eric Alterman the respect he richly deserves)

He has been snippy and all out of sorts
at Bush he's really p*ssed
Poor Eric Alterman needs a new gynecologist
He has had migraines and he has had cramps
oh, why must these pains persist
Poor Eric Alterman needs a new gynecologist
Out of control
he's an a-hole
He writes his B.S. in the Nation
Eric needs new medication
Down on his kneepads when Clinton would call
he'd say "If you insist"
Poor Eric Alterman needs a new gynecologist
Out of control
he's an a-hole
He writes his B.S. in the Nation
Eric needs new medication
Girly man Eric warns FReepers they'll get
a slap with his limp wrist
Poor Eric Alterman needs a
he's desperate and needs right away
A new gynecologist

Hell of an archive you have, doug!
Is there anyone on the left who is not possessed by permanent PMS?? I guess denying reality and being wrong about everything wears on the soul.
I had trouble with a link I made to cnn tonight as well
He’s an idiot, and my favorite TV moment was several years ago on the Dennis Miller show when Dennis Miller couldn’t even be bothered to do his research on Alterman. He just threw his notecards in the air and told Alterman to say whatever the eff he wanted. People got on Miller’s case for it, but I thought it was just about the level of respect Alterman deserved.
Alterman was hired by MSNBC in 1995, and appeared as a commentator on the cable channel and wrote a column. In 2002 MSNBC directed him to create the daily Altercation blog, which was the first blog run by a mainstream news outlet.[1] In September 2006, Alterman and MSNBC parted ways, after a ten year association. Media Matters for America then hired Alterman as a Senior Fellow and agreed to host Altercation, effective September 18, 2006.
Alterman argues that the press is biased against liberals rather than in their favor.
Alterman was and remains a critic of Ralph Nader for his actions in 2000 US Presidental Election claiming he is partially to blame for the election of George W. Bush because of vote splitting [2]. He has called Nader “Bush’s Useful Idiot” [3], myopic [4], and a deluded megalomaniac [5].
“The man needs to go away. I think he needs to live in a different country. Hes done enough damage to this one. Let him damage somebody else’s now.”[6]
Alterman on Ronald Reagan:
...”Ronald Reagan was many things, but most undeniably he was a pathological liar.”
“I got a call one day from a Republican Party functionary telling me that Hillary Clinton supported a Palestinian state and took money from groups that supported terrorist organizations “like the one that just blew up the USS Cole.” I told the sorry sonofabitch that like Israel’s Prime Minister, I, too, support a Palestinian state. And, if there was any justice in the world, Hillary’s “terrorist” friends would blow up Republican headquarters while we were still on the phone, so I could enjoy hearing the explosion.”
I’d bet a c-note no charges are pressed and nada comes of this.
